New video from WGLR: Bucky Covington and band at the BARn, and a few "I Wanna Be That Feeling" news links...

Thanks to the very generous people of WGLR Radio for sharing this memory from Bucky Covington's show in Wisconsin last weekend! Bucky, Rocky, Ducky and the band are still on the road wrapping up their hit 2011 Hometown Tour; click here for more details.

Bucky's upcoming new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", is making the news rounds today, too. CMT's Hazel Smith (who has been a kind supporter of Bucky's from way, way back) mentioned him and the song in today's Hot Dish column at CMT.com , noting that the single will be out in January. The Boot also has an article about Bucky's return to the airwaves, with a fun quote from Bucky himself via an earlier story at USA Today:

Bucky says he played "I Wanna Be That Feeling" one time several months ago but wasn't happy with the arrangement so he pulled it. "I had a fan come up who was almost mad at me: 'What happened to that Feeling song?'" he says. "I put it back into the set with a new guitar player, and it seems like folks are just loving it."

But wait, there's more! The Taste Of Country blog has a review of Bucky's new single by writer Billy Dukes, with this thought-provoking observation: " Covington has always had the one quality that aspiring musicians hope for: an unmistakable voice. This song is humble and a little clunky but perfectly memorable."

Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington on stage at the Crocodile Rock in Allentown, 12/7; this classic vintage photo was taken by the very kind Aikenseeker. Thanks again, Aikenseeker!

Looks like the excitement is brewing...could it be that Bucky's new tune hits your local country radio airwaves even sooner than you think? It's always good to keep an ear out for those "new music challenge" features. In the meantime, if you'd like to listen to Bucky and his band play this one live and loud, get to a show! The tour bus stops next at Bucky, Rocky and Ducky's hometown, Rockingham NC, for a show at Suede on Friday, November 25th; click here for more details. Also via Twitter, thanks to everyone who tweeted a link to this thoughtful review of Bucky's new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", at CountryMusicLife.com. (It seems to be a review of Bucky's career to date, as well, and the writer has many positive things to say...)

We'll close with a quote from Bucky himself--we linked earlier to this article by Cindy Watts at The Tennessean's Tune In Music City blog, but this bit from Bucky jumped out at us today: "The album is all but done, but I’m still writing and we’re still looking at songs and if we come across a hit we’re going to cut it," Covington says. "We’re just having fun." The article goes on to note that eOne will release Bucky's new album around Spring 2012...could it be that there are some even newer songs that will turn up in Bucky's live set and later, on his album? You'll want to go to a show and hear for yourself! Bucky's official tour schedule is here, and Buckytown has a beautiful sidebar with lots of links and concert updates. Have a wonderful evening!

Very quick CMA night news, and another programming note...

A Nashville memory from the very kind Happydays; Bucky Covington on stage at CRS 2008. Thanks again!

We'll keep tonight's news short and sweet, since the CMA Awards will be in progress by the time you read this:

Bucky Covington tweeted this photo of himself with new labelmate Shooter Jennings
(confession--I'm a fan and I'm pretty pleased that they're on the same label...) taken during the latter's video shoot for "Family Man" yesterday. Bucky has a cameo in the video, we hear--can't wait to see how it turns out...

Here's a funny tidbit about the shooting of Bucky's own video from Billboard Country Update (via MJ's Big Blog):

Bucky Covington, recently signed to the eOne label, shot the video for his next single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling," at the Tennessee State Prison in Nashville. The site isn’t one most people would likely pick for the clip to a love song, but Covington jokes that prison "kind of makes sense, if you think about that." While at the jail, Covington couldn’t resist the opportunity to sit in the electric chair where a long line of prisoners were executed. He escaped without incident, though the remote possibility that he could’ve been jolted with electricity could’ve made that an unwise move. "Looking back," he says, "I’m agreeing." The single ships in January.

We'll close for now with a new bulletin from Tribstar.com in Terre Haute, IN; looks like Bucky will be taking some very special time out in the area for the Veteran's Day parade. From the newspaper: "The parade starts at 10 a.m. at Fourth and Cherry streets. Covington will be riding on a THFD fire truck, the [press] release states." Bucky is scheduled to present a check to the family of fallen Terre Haute Police Officer Brent Long after the parade; the funds were made possible from the sale of CDs published by Alabama's Randy Owen, the newspaper notes.

Last but not least, a programming note. I'll be on the road with no internet access for most of the day tomorrow (Thursday); look for an update here on Friday, or sooner if I can get settled in early enough tomorrow evening. Take care and enjoy the day, everybody!

Bucky Covington's single cover graphics for "I Wanna Be That Feeling"...share it, y'all!

Bucky Covington just tweeted this beautiful new graphic from eOne , along with this message: Did u notice? New single cover now avail for u all to share! "I Wanna Be That Feeling" at radio soon from Yep, Bucky, we noticed...and it's awesome! We'll have a full post here for you this evening, but we had to pass along the eye candy right away--enjoy! See you tonight...

Bucky Covington's radio days get rollin': "I Wanna Be That Feeling" in the background at WQYK and an interview on WGLR...

Bucky Covington and his band have spent a lot of time in Wisconsin this past year--here's a fun memory from last year's Hodag festival, shared by Bucky himself on his official YouTube Channel. Enjoy!

A very kind elf just let us know that Bucky Covington's fans in the WQYK (Tampa) listening area enjoyed a treat even before Friday night's party at The Round Up--his new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", was played in the background during his call-in interview about the St Jude's Research Children's Hospital benefit. Our elf also mentioned that it sounded absolutely fantastic on the radio..."way better" than the streamed preview we heard earlier this week. Awesome news, yes? (If you didn't have a chance to enjoy the studio version at the excellent MJ's Big Blog, click here, then imagine how sweet it'll sound through your full bodied speakers at home or in the car...)

While we're talking about radio, here's a heads up from the very kind Rob Spangler of WGLR via the station's Facebook:

WGLR's Rob Spangler will chat with Country Star Bucky Covington THIS TUESDAY in the 9AM hour, in celebration of his Birthday and our special "Bucky Birthday Blowout!" Bucky will perform LIVE in concert Saturday Night Nov. 19th, 8pm @ The BARn! Buy a ticket to his show THIS TUESDAY & you'll get a FREE CD Single of your choice (while supplies last)! We'll also have FREE Bucky Birthday Cake that day during the Drive Thru Diner with Julie from 12:30-2pm! Celebrity interviews are sponsored by The BARn in Platteville!

Look for lots more enjoyable radio goodies as "I Wanna Be That Feeling" gets closer to its official add date. (Nope, we don't know when the official date will be, but my educated guess is that Fran and friends at Buckytown USA might break that news some fine weekend soon!) In the meantime, we'll join you at Buckytown for Saturday, Sunday and Monday updates. See you there!

Early morning audio: Bucky Covington talks with WQYK...

Rocky Covington (at left) and Bucky Covington on stage in Kansas; many thanks to Judy Lang for the terrific photo. Bucky and his band return to Kansas on December 1st for 106-5 The Wolf's Acoustic Christmas; click here for more information.

Here's a short, sweet treat from WQYK's Steve Austin--he talked to Bucky Covington yesterday about Bucky's new eOne single (cool tidbit--the video for "I Wanna Be That Feeling" was shot at the same penitentiary where The Green Mile was filmed) and about tonight's big show at The Round Up in Tampa.

Listen to the podcast here, and if you're in town be sure to head on out to the party! It's a wild event for a worthwhile cause--all proceeds benefit St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. More details are available at WQYK. See you later today--W

Update: Bucky Covington's "I Wanna Be That Feeling" video is shooting today in Nashville...

(Nope, this isn't footage from today's video shoot...but it is a fun look behind the scenes at a photo shoot Bucky Covington did a while back, via his official YouTube channel. Lots of enjoyable viewing there--take a look around!)

Looks like we can all get ready for the video-voting whirl even sooner than we thought! Here's good news straight from Bucky Covington's Twitter: "Video shoot for the new single today. We're hoping stills from the video shoot pop up online soon...in the meantime, keep an eye out for your chance to hear Bucky's new song live at a concert stop near you. Enjoy the day!
