We'll kick things off with a timely reminder--if you're anywhere near Margaritaville Nashville, get on over there now! General admission seats may still be available for tonight's Autism Sings benefit, featuring live music by Bucky Covington, Bo Bice, Ty Herndon, Carter's Chord, Mockingbird Sun and Katie Chance. Doors are opening at 7 p.m., and a minimum $5 donation at the door gets you inside for all the fun. Proceeds will benefit the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Autism Research.
There are some changes on Bucky's eOne events page this week; it looks as though the previously-mentioned March 30th show at The Pour House in Dublin, GA is no longer listed. However, two new events have been added: an April 14th date at the City Limits Saloon in Raleigh, NC, and a June 12th Cross Country Trailride in Eminence, MO. And finally--today marks the 6th year anniversary of the Buckymania blog! Yep, it all started off with crummy screencaps by yours truly, and a dream of Bucky Covington making the American Idol tour and getting an album out, "someday". A whole lot's changed in my life (and yours, and Bucky's!) since that chilly day in March of 2006, but one thing's stayed the same--and grown, in fact. That's our pleasure in listening to Bucky's distinctive, beautiful voice, and our hopes that he'll continue to grace our radios, our local and national live stages, and more for years to come. Everything you and I discerned back then about Bucky's hard-working, crowd-pleasing Southern grit, charm, talent and determination turned out to be true, and then some. It's been a joy sharing the ride with you! Thanks so much to you for stopping in for these last six years, for sharing your photos, news and concert memories, and for just being here.

On October 19th, Bucky and his band will play theShowplace Arena in Memphis, TN. (We're not sure which event Bucky will be gracing, but there's a calendar here that might show an update in a little while.) The following day, October 20th, head over to the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville to enjoy Bucky's live set at a truly historic venue. Ticket information for both concerts will no doubt turn up closer to showtime...what we do know right now for sure is that Bucky puts on an awesome live show, so save the dates!
Bucky's new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", is climbing the Music Row Country Breakout Chart at a steady pace--it's now #61, up from last week's #64. Bucky also shared a happy note on his official Facebook: "Good news on the radio front - I WANNA BE THAT FEELING is in the top 20 most added acts on the Music Row Chart - keep requesting and keep downloading the single!" A friend told us thatBucky Covington's rockin' version of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" was heard on both WALS in Oglesby, IL and KXDD in Yakima, WA in the past couple of days--and it might be playing on your local country radio station this week, too. If not, why not hop on that good ol' request line...
In the meantime, coverage of that Birmingham-area benefit for injured firefighter Brad Dean continues to roll in; Bucky tweeted a link to this video from local station ABC 33/40, and it's well worth a look. (As the story notes, donations are still being accepted at HelpTheGoodGuys.com.)

As for concert news, the Hometown Tour wrapped up with a bang earlier this month, but word has it that plenty of live show fun is in store for 2012. Bucky's official site will no doubt be updated soon with new tour dates, and we're gonna leave this link to Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill at Harrah's Las Vegas right here, in case Bucky's name turns up on the page for that rumored NYE show. We did find a reference to the show on the Caesar's Windsor site that reads, in its entirety, "Country Star Bucky Covington gives a special NYE concert at 10pm! Only at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill at Harrah’s Las Vegas". We're hoping for official word on this show soon, but if you'll be in Las Vegas, we can't think of a better way to ring in the new year than this particular party, y'all!

Our last word--straight from Bucky himself via the Herald Dispatch--was "another five, six months after" his upcoming single (which is going to be sensational, if this live version is any indication). Yep...patience is a virtue...
