Bucky Covington joins Tracy Lawrence's Mission Possible Turkey Fry in Nashville...

Bucky Covington was among the many country music notables, Tennessee Titans stars and Titans cheerleaders who joined host Tracy Lawrence for today's seventh annual Mission Possible Turkey Fry in the parking lot of the Nashville Rescue Mission.  In this interview posted at Examiner.com, Lawrence mentioned two goals for the fry--to raise awareness of the services the Mission provides to those in need,  and to provide thousands of meals for the area's homeless citizens this year.  WSMV-4 posted a video segment taped just before the fry began, and WTVF/Newschannel 5 also covered today's event; you'll find their article here.

Bucky and Tracy are also part of a special event happening in Las Vegas--the Academy of Country Music Rodeo Live Stage during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo will feature two sets by Bucky, as this newly updated Cowboy Fanfest schedule [.pdf] indicates.  On December 13th, you can enjoy Bucky's live music from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm, and again at 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm; Tracy Lawrence will grace the stage December 6th at 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm.

Bucky Covington and his band have had a busy weekend, indeed--first, they headlined a sunny Saturday afternoon benefit show in Watertown, TN, and it was captured beautifully in this Spotted gallery posted by the Lebanon Democrat.  Music With a Purpose, sponsors of the event, tweeted this fun photo, and local favorite performer Alicia Smith shared this view of the show getting underway and a terrific backstage glimpse.  We like all those great shots, but we absolutely loved this one of Bucky onstage with special guest star MsBuckyfan/Kimberly--thanks to everyone who gave us a photographic taste of Saturday's good times!

This afternoon, Bucky and Help the Good Guys joined forces with Hall Nissan in Virginia Beach to present a Recycled Ride to a local firefighter and his family.  97.3 The Eagle was there, and they captured the event in this photo album posted at Facebook today.

Bucky also visited with the team at Fire Rescue TV;  their Facebook features a photo of Bucky with Fire Rescue TV Marketing Director Jennifer Hux and Administrative Assistant Katy Tecson.  (Looks like they're in front of a green screen--could another PSA be in the works?  Stay tuned...)

Quick news: Bucky Covington goes "Inside The Song " for Inside Music Row, countdown to Chattanooga, winter shows and more...

We can't get enough of this song, live, on the radio and on iTunes! Bucky Covington and his band rocked a happy crowd in Kentucky with "Drinking Side of Country", the latest single from his hot album Good Guys.  Profits from iTunes downloads of this song through 12/31/12 will be donated to firefighters and their families who suffered losses due to Hurricane Sandy.  (Thanks again to jamwell212 at YouTube.)

Wonder what inspired Bucky Covington's rowdy new single,  "Drinking Side of Country"?  Wonder no more--he shared the real-life experiences behind the lyrics in the "Inside the Song" segment of this week's Inside Music Row video news.  Enjoy!

Also sure to be enjoyable--delicious pancakes and an acoustic set by Bucky at the upcoming benefit for Tristin Greer, son of Senior Firefighter Jason Greer, happening this Saturday at Chattanooga Fire Station No. 1 (218 E. Main St.) at 8:00 am.  We're gonna mention that custom guitar raffle again, too, because we have an ulterior motive...we'd love to see a Buckymania reader win this beautiful prize! Quick news: Bucky Covington at the Old Port Festival (video) and a few odds and ends...

Just a couple of quick notes to share this evening:

Bucky Covington shared this photo from yesterday's IAFF gathering in Memphis via Twitter today, along with some excellent news:  "Just announced - $2k raised for the IAFF Charitable Foundation with @HelpTheGoodGuys."  Bucky's Help The Good Guys Presents Bucky Covington fundraiser CD is available now (and packed with some killer new songs), and he'll be making more appearances this year as the charity's official spokesperson.

He and his band are on the road all summer long--the next stop is Saturday's free show at the Springs Spree in Colorado Springs.  After that, you'll definitely want to be there when they return to Wild Bills Atlanta on Friday, June 22nd. This'll be their third time performing at the venue, and a sold-out and very enthusiastic crowd is pretty much a given--don't miss out on this party!

A kind elf reminded us about Bucky's cameo in the excellent new Shooter Jennings video for "The Real Me", which was featured at The Boot yesterday evening.  (We dig Bucky and Shooter big time around here, so it's squarely in the "must-see" file...)

The first Celebrity Go-Go event happened earlier today--sounds like it was a "racy" good time!  The day of go-kart racing and golfing was a benefit for Hear the Music Live, and by all accounts it was a pleasure for the participants, too.  We'll post more links to photos from the event as they become available--in the meantime, Flying Island Entertainment at Twitter has this glimpse of Bucky Covington and Gwen Sebastian speeding around the track.  There's also a great shot shared by OriginalDreDreamer right here, and another fun Twitter image from CathyAnne...thanks, y'all!

Bucky had a busy day today; he, his beautiful fiancee Katherine Cook and Heather Conley of Monarch Publicity, eOne's Hannah Cox and New Revolution's Rob Dalton stopped in at Country Aircheck's new offices, where Bucky had the honor of doing the first official performance in the publication's new home. Bucky's next scheduled event happens at 11 am tomorrow, when he'll ride in the CMA Fest Kick-Off Parade in downtown Nashville along with lots of your favorite country stars and Help The Good Guys. Bucky Covington, "Geechy Guy", Billy Ray Bauer and Your Generation are teaming up to benefit the Firefighter Cancer Foundation at the Fillmore Detroit on Sunday, 2/11! The show stars at 7 pm, and tickets are available at www.livenation.com and www.ticketmaster.com.

Bucky Covington, Celebrity Ambassador for the Arthritis Foundation

Bucky Covington celebrated a sweet scholastic victory on CMT's Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader, where he raised $25,000 for the Arthritis Foundation--but his work for the Foundation doesn't stop there. His Twitter has been updated today with the news that he's going to be the Celebrity Ambassador for the charity, participating in five different upcoming 5K runs. The Foundation's site has also been updated with a notice that "Covington has also signed on as the Jingle Bell Run Celebrity Ambassador for all JBR events in Tennessee."

Congratulations to Bucky and the Arthritis Foundation--sounds like a winning combination! If you're one of Bucky's Tennessee fans, stay tuned for more details on those events, and be sure to say hello to him while you're lacing up those running shoes for a good cause. More soon--Winnie
