New "Good Guys" launch week links: Bucky Covington at ABC News, People Country, Us Magazine, CMT Insider and a Music Row chart check...

Here's a little video slice of Good Guys history, straight from Imlay City--this clip by captures one of the very first live performances of "Drinking Side of Country" ever!  For your chance to hear Bucky Covington and his band perform this rockin' hit (along with lots more of the good stuff from his new album) check out his official concert calendar at eOne.

Bucky Covington has been very busy promoting his new--and well-received--album Good Guys, and three intriguing new video links have popped up over the course of the day:

ABC News' What's The Buzz featured Bucky in this interview segment--he spoke about the making of his new release, his commitment to Help the Good Guys, and the importance of the organization's efforts to assist injured firefighters in need and their families.

People Country posted this short but info-packed video in which Bucky talks about why buying Good Guys this week is an especially brilliant idea (a portion of the proceeds from the first week's sales go to HTGG;  snag your copy at Amazon, iTunes, the HelpTheGoodGuys.com store,  Bucky's official site, or at a store near you now),  and gives a cute shout out to Kellie Pickler's charms...

Finally (and most intriguingly of all), Bucky takes on a totally different career--temporarily--as he joins US Magazine's Senior Editor Ian Drew for an unscripted (and funny!) celebrity gossip chat in their Hot Stuff Video segment.  Enjoy!

Coming up:  Monarch Publicity Tweeted that Bucky and Good Guys will be part of this week's CMT Insider, airing on Saturday and Sunday at 11 am Eastern, 10 Central.  Don't miss it!

We'll close with a Music Row Country Breakout Chart check;  Bucky, Shooter Jennings and  "Drinking Side of Country" moved up from #77 to #72 in its second week on the chart--nice going!  Celebrate with a vote for Bucky and Shooter at  GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, CMT Pure's Pure 12 Pack and CMT's Top 20 Countdown, and be sure to request Bucky at your local country radio station.  We'll turn it over to the fantastic Fran, who'll keep you updated with videos, photos and news all weekend long at the excellent Buckytown USA blog.  See you here on Monday evening--have a great weekend, everybody!

It may or may not be the meaning of life, but #42 is a significant number for Bucky and his fans lately--that's where his new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", has been holding on strong at Music Row's Country Breakout Chart for the third week in a row.  Wanna help it climb higher?  Vote for it on GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown and CMT Pure's Pure 12 Pack, and keep on asking for Bucky at your local country station...

Our good friend Fran at Buckytown USA will have excellent updates, photos and more for you this and every Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning. We'll see you here Monday evening...enjoy the weekend!

Quick musical interlude: Bucky Covington's "Drinkin' Side of Country" in Imlay City (fan video)

Here's a rockin' little memory from Bucky Covington's concert in Imlay City a while back, courtesy of the very kind --this was the first public performance of the rowdy, self-penned "Drinkin' Side of Country", and it sounds like this song was a hit with the crowd straight out of the gate! Keep an ear out for this one on Bucky's upcoming new album, due later this year (it'll be a duet with his very cool labelmate Shooter Jennings), and be sure to ask for Bucky's current single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling" (available now at iTunes) , at your local country station today. And if that video made you smile, just imagine how much fun you'll have with Bucky and his band at a live show--check out his concert schedule here, and make plans for a night to remember. Back soon!--W

Thank you, Bucky Covington! A sweet shout-out at Facebook, "I Wanna Be That Feeling" video update and a possible new date in Iowa...

An Iowa concert memory from a little while back; here's Bucky Covington and his band performing "Evel Knievel" at the 2009 KJJY Big Country Bash in Des Moines. Thanks to for posting this at YouTube!

First things first--we're very thankful for the sweet shout out posted at Bucky Covington's official Facebook today! It's a pleasure keeping up with Bucky's busy schedule, and we're also thankful to you for stopping in and saying hello...

Speaking of Bucky's busy schedule (nice segue, yes?) it looks like there's an unofficial but highly likely addition today. This press release from SpeedwayMedia.com has some good news for Bucky's fans in Iowa:

NEWTON, IA. – March 22, 2012 – As part of the initiative to improve the already great fan experience, Iowa Speedway is moving this year’s concert acts to the pre-race festivities – allowing more fans an opportunity to attend. Also new for this year: local bands from around the central Iowa region will be performing on the opening night of each event weekend on the Grinnell Mutual Concert Stage.

“In review of last year, we have been asking fans where we can improve the overall fan experience; and concert times were one of our main topics of discussion,” said Stan Clement, president of Iowa Speedway. “From the feedback, we feel moving all but one of our concerts to pre-race really allows more fans to enjoy this benefit of having a race ticket.”

The May 19 and 20 event weekend has Loose Neutral, a classic rock band from Marshalltown, performing Saturday afternoon before the Iowa 150 presented by Graham Tire Company, and Bucky Covington, who was a former American Idol finalist, will get the crowd amped for the Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 on Sunday.

Tickets for the Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 are available online at Ticketmaster now. Congratulations to all of Bucky's fans in the area--have fun! Tonight, Bucky's on stage at Z104 Country's listener appreciation concert in Salt Lake City with Steve Holy and The Farm. That one's a listen and win show, but tickets for his next scheduled date at Keller's Saloon in Castalian Springs, TN on April 7th are still available to the public, if you move very fast! Get yours by phone at 615-374-4719 ASAP...

A favorite Big Country Bash photo by the very kind Janie: Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington enjoy some applause in Des Moines.

Bucky shared some good news at Twitter in reply to a listener's question about the video for his hot new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling"--he said it's on its way "very very soon...it's ready and I've seen it." Needless to say, we're eagerly anticipating its debut on CMT and GAC. In the meantime, hearing it is as easy as picking up the phone and requesting Bucky at your local country radio station. (You knew I was gonna say that, didn't you?)

We'll be back very soon--have a great night, everyone!

An "Autism Sings" update (advance seats sold out!) photos from The Eagle, and Bucky Covington's guest star in Detroit...

Ever wonder what it would be like to be in Bucky Covington's band? Comedian Gary Thison found out during their recent show at the Fillmore in Detroit, where this video snippet was taken. Uploader describes it best: "Since Gary wasn't getting paid for his harmonica playing, he pretty much only played one note. Word has it that he plans to learn more notes in the near future." Thanks to them for sharing this one at YouTube, and to the very kind elf who passed along the link!

Tomorrow's the big night in Nashville! Bucky Covington, Bo Bice, Ty Herndon, Carter's Chord, Mockingbird Sun and Katie Chance are the stars at the Autism Sings benefit concert at Margaritaville Nashville, and while advance tickets are sold out, limited general admission seats will be available on a first-come, first served basis. (We'd suggest getting there early.) The show was also featured on today's Tune in Music City blog at The Tennessean.

Bucky's new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", is hitting radio (if it isn't hitting your local country station just yet, give 'em a call!) and his live show at PBR Hampton Roads this past weekend was a hit for 97.3 The Eagle. The station graciously posted photos from the night on their Facebook wall today--enjoy!

We'll keep it short and sweet for now, but we'll be making up for it with a big ol' special post tomorrow, so be sure to tune in. See you then!

Quick news: A new Bucky Covington interview (and a shout out to you...)

Bucky Covington wrote this one as "a party in three and a half minutes"--and that, it is! Here's "Drinkin' Side of Country" as captured by the very kind during Bucky's concert at Whisky River in Charlotte, NC.

Bucky Covington sat down with Music News Nashville's Chuck Dauphin during CRS week, and this excellent long interview was the result. Among the highlights: Bucky revealed that the recorded version of his self-penned "Drinkin' Side of Country" will be a duet with Shooter Jennings, and that it "came out amazing" (can't wait to hear this!), and that I'm Alright, his long awaited second album, will be out in "June of next year". (Next year, meaning 2013? Hope I'm misreading that...)

If you've been sharing your fondness for Bucky's music by Tweeting, Facebooking and the like, you'll enjoy this next bit. Bucky also had some sweet and gracious things to say about you:

Covington credits his fans for keeping his name out there. "They keep me in the mix. The best part about my fans is they know I am not Internet savvy. I used to have a company that handled the website, which we found was a little too impersonal. So, we’ve got a guy at the label who helps me get through the process. My fans have been great, and you can’t ask for any more than that."

Going through a period where he was between record deals, Covington admits that the fans kept him going. "Yes, they did. When an artist goes through things like your label shutting down, there are some depressing moments. You get really scared, and you don’t know what is going to happen. There’s nothing like jumping online and seeing your fans there supporting you."

A great Virginia concert memory--Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington greet their fans in Winchester, VA. Thanks again to Happydays for this classic photo.

Supporting Bucky and his band offline is a joy, as well--catch them this month on March 10th at PBR Hampton Roads in Hampton Roads, VA, courtesy of sponsor station 97.3 The Eagle.

On March 13th, Bucky joins co-stars Bo Bice, Ty Herndon, Carter's Chord, Mockingbird Sun and Katie Chance for the big Autism Sings benefit concert at Margaritaville Nashville. Tickets are available in advance online, and auctions for an autographed guitar, meet and greets and front row seating are underway.

Finally, on March 30th, enjoy Bucky at The Pour House in Dublin, GA. Tickets for this show are a very reasonable $15--be there for the party, y'all! We'll see you tomorrow evening...

Bucky Covington at CRS: Billboard, MDA and Country Aircheck (and a new banner for that hot Castalian Springs show...)

A very, very early (and very cool), live performance of Bucky Covington's newest single--here's "I Wanna Be That Feeling" live in Wentzville, as captured by the very kind . Thanks so much!

It's Country Radio Seminar week in beautiful Nashville, and there's lots of coverage to be enjoyed! Bucky Covington smiled for the cameras and provided a fun quote in today's Backbeat column at Billboard.biz, thanking the folks who play his music on the radio across the nation. The Muscular Dystrophy Association tweeted another sweet image from CRS--check out Bucky's fun pose with the adorable Alyssa here. (Hmm...wonder who's providing the brute strength in that shot?)

Yesterday's Country Aircheck provided a little glimpse of CRS fun, as well; Bucky was part of a group of Flying Island Entertainment artists and staff who enjoyed a party Tuesday evening, as seen in the photo section at the end of the page. (Flying Island is an artists services company specializing in promo, and we're looking forward to all the fun leading up to Bucky's new album release later this year...)

Speaking of fun, how about a little live reminder? Here's a new online banner for that hot show at Keller's Saloon in Castalian Springs, TN on April 7th. Tickets are $15, and advance seats are available by phone at 615-374-4719. Curtis & Luckey and The Chili Chicks are the special guests. If you're in Nashville, keep an ear out for ads for the show on 103 WKDF starting in early March.

While you're at it, keep an ear out for Bucky's new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", on country radio everywhere! More very soon...

Happy Valentine's Day! Three love songs by Bucky Covington...

Valentine's Day is here, and what better way to celebrate than with some sweet love songs! Bucky Covington's latest single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", is all about the joys of falling in love; here's a terrific live version captured by in Jackson, KY a few weeks back.

Bucky's "sexy song" is a big slow-dance favorite live, and when you see this beautiful performance from his Hillsboro, KS show, you'll know why. "Hold A Woman" is sure to be a most-played track on Bucky's upcoming second album; thanks to for this classic concert memory.

Are you livin' single this Valentine's Day? Keep the faith--there's definitely somebody out there for you! Bucky's country cover of Nickelback's "Gotta Be Somebody" was a highlight of his big '09 homecoming concert in Rockingham; this video comes from his official YouTube channel, where there's a lot more good stuff to watch and enjoy...

New fan video: Bucky Covington sings "A Different World" at the Beaumont Club (and a mystery show...)

Thanks to for sharing this newly-posted sweet concert memory at YouTube; here's Bucky Covington singing an acoustic version of his first big hit, "A Different World", at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City back in December.

The anticipation's building...it's good to know that Bucky Covington and his band will be back on the road again! Their next stop is Saturday night's Strive to Survive benefit at The Fillmore Detroit in Detroit (tickets available at LiveNation). Earlier today, Bucky talked to 99.5 WCYD's Rachael and Grunwald about the event (and no doubt, about a whole lot more). Steve Grunwald tweeted that the interview is going to be up soon; we'll post a link to their podcast page right about here, and we'll tweet the good news as soon as it's available...

In fact, Bucky's spring concert calendar is filling up nicely--besides the show on Saturday, you can see and hear Bucky and his band on March 13th at Margaritaville Nashville (322 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37201) for the big Autism Sings benefit concert. (The awesome Bo Bice will also be part of this very special night--if you're anywhere in the vicinity, get there! Info is available here; email tennessee@autismspeaks.org or call 615-238-1625 for more details).

On February 16th, Bucky's set to rock Capone's in Johnson City, TN (tickets available via MusicToday) and on the 17th, catch the party at Stingray's in Maggie Valley, NC (tickets available at Ticket Alternative or call 828-926-4100 for information).

Finally, we've got a mystery show to report, also via Twitter. Kevin Mac wrote "
Playing a show March 10th with at in Hampton Roads, VA. BE THERE!", and while we can't find an official confirmation of this one, there is a Facebook page for the new PBR Hampton Roads club, set to open in March. If you're local and you've got the scoop, please let us all know! We'll be back again ASAP...

Fan video: Bucky Covington sings "It's Good to Be Us" at the Beaumont Club, and a Medrock show tonight...

Edited to add a note about tonight's Medrock show at The Loading Zone in Antioch, TN; Ducky Medlock and Rocky Covington will perform this evening at about 8 pm Central, and their shows are always a blast. If you're in the area, head on out now!--W

Bucky Covington's
recent performance at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City was a true delight; here's "It's Good to Be Us" as captured by the very kind buckyandrockytxfan at YouTube. Thanks! Bucky's next acoustic show happens this coming Sunday in the Birmingham AL area, where he'll bowl and sing at the Lightning Strikes Bowling Center during a fundraiser for injured Birmingham Fire Fighter Brad Dean presented by BLEVE and Entertainment One Music. Bucky's Twitter had a message about the event earlier today, complete with a link to all the details at his official Facebook--be sure to check it out!

We tweeted this link late last night, but it deserves a repeat--Bucky's show for 103.7 WXCY was a big success, according to CecilWhig.com. Their article notes that Christmas in the Country raised about $6,400 for the Ray of Hope Mission, and the photo of Bucky and the station's notables is a nice touch.

Finally, we'll share a note/PSA of our own--if you haven't already snagged Bucky's hot new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", why wait? It's available right now at iTunes, and it's awesome. We'll be back tomorrow--enjoy your evening and stay warm!

Concert memories: Bucky Covington on stage in Kansas City, and a Saturday night party...

Huge thanks to the very kind Rachel for this fresh and terrific shot from last night's concert in Kansas City--here's Bucky Covington and Casey James on stage at the Beaumont Club during The WOLF's Acoustic Christmas Concert. Click here for Bucky's official concert list, and stay tuned--it's going to be a busy 2012!

Bucky Covington, Gloriana, James Wesley and Casey James were a big hit for a good cause at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City last night--they helped sponsor station 106.5 The WOLF collect toys for needy local children, and rocked a big and happy crowd in the process. (We'd call that a win-win.) Rachel was there, and she shared this memory from the show: "The lineup was Gloriana, Bucky, James Wesley, and Casey James. This is how they were lined up on the stage from left to right, if you were facing the stage. It was an acoustic show, so from Bucky’s group, it was Bucky and Luke. Bucky kept referring to Luke as Jason Michael Carroll and it was pretty funny." Thanks, Rachel! Keep an eye out for a recap on Glenda's excellent Caseymania blog, as well. (We'll leave a link to The WOLF's photo gallery right here, just in case it's updated over the weekend...)

Your next chance to create a Bucky Covington concert memory of your own happens tomorrow at the Twisted Spoke Saloon in Tremont, IL, with Bucky and his band and opening performer Weston Burt. You'll find the Twisted Spoke at 105 South Baer Rd. in Tremont, and 93.7 River Country is the station to listen to while you're getting ready to go...

We'll leave you with a very cool video souvenir from the Beaumont; here's a fun rendition of "Folsom Prison Blues" by all the stars of yesterday's acoustic show. Thanks to cmb7869 for posting this one on YouTube. We'll meet you over at the beautiful Buckytown USA blog for Fran's Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning news, and we'll see you back here again on Monday evening. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Thursday's Acoustic Christmas Concert is happening at the Beaumont Club, and it's a beauty; Bucky, Gloriana, Casey James and James Wesley are set to perform in what sponsor station 106-5 The WOLF calls "a singer-songwriter type setting". Our friend Glenda of Caseymania fame will be there, and you can be there too--check out the Wolf's site for info on Tuesday's and Wednesday's Ticket Hits, and be sure to bring an unwrapped new gift ($10 and up) for a needy local youngster when you go.

That December 10th date in Perryville is WXCY's Christmas In The Country show; tickets are $40, and to get yours, call the station's Info Line at 866-664-1037.
