Quick Tuesday news: Bucky Covington sells out in Ocala, news roundup, concert check, photos and more (updated)

Thanks to the very talented Buckyroo for graciously sharing this striking shot of Bucky Covington at his homecoming concert in Rockingham, NC--hop over to Buckytown USA for links to more!

Here's a quick look at what's happening today:

Bucky Covington, Chris Young and Jack Ingram were an irresistible combination in Ocala, Florida, from the looks of things--tonight's 93.7 K Country acoustic concert is completely sold out. Congratulations to all who were lucky enough to snag a ticket...enjoy the show! Bucky and his band's next show happens on Friday, 10/2 at Tomahawks in St. Albans, WV, and this intimate-venue date is probably pretty close to being sold out as well. If you haven't secured your seat, don't hesitate! Tickets ($30) are sold online on the venue's home page.

Coming up: the Mountain State Forest Festival in Elkins, WV on Saturday, 10/3 (tickets on sale now at the festival's online box office) and a free WWGR-sponsored show at Icabod's in Fort Myers, FL on 10/9 with labelmate Sarah Buxton. As always, we'll direct you to Bucky's MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky's official tour page for the latest concert news...

A huge thanks to Fran and Renee at Buckytown USA for keeping us all up to date on the changing live scene, last week's festivities in Rockingham and much more! They passed along these terrific links this morning:

*** Bucky's My Space Blog has a new entry!
*** The Richmond County Daily Journal reports that Rockingham local business got a boost from the concert this weekend; the attendance was estimated at 6,000. (FYI, the population of Richmond County was 8,880 in July of 2008, so almost the whole county was there!)
*** Over a ton of food was collected for this charity event! The article has some fabulous shots...the top photos keep changing...

Fran and Renee also have plenty of photo and video links to share, including this beautiful Facebook gallery by professional photographer Jimmy McDonald, and a set of six excellent Rockingham videos by our talented friend Buckyroo. (And there's more! This hot soundcheck performance of "Unchain My Heart" popped up late last night--thanks to Melody for posting it at MySpace.)

Bucky Covington, Ducky Medlock (center) and Rocky Covington delighted the hometown audience in Rockingham--thanks again to the very generous Judy Lang for this excellent concert shot!

Back next post with more "Gotta Be Somebody" scoop--Bucky's new single is hitting radio stations today, and 97.9 KICK-FM in Hannibal MO/Quincy IL were the first to share news of its debut on their airwaves via Twitter this morning. (Y'all know the drill--keep that local country radio station turned up, and if you hear it, let them know you liked it! Meanwhile, it's always stylish to request any of Bucky's four splendid singles while you're enjoying your workday...)

(Edited to add links to KGRT's Great Country Blog, where there's an enjoyable entry on Bucky's Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader triumph, to It's Good to be Us, where the updated countdown widget is available for snagging, and to Buck Wild, where a beautiful new promo graphic by Lisa/Judge FL awaits. Finally, check out the huge photo of Bucky and his band on the cover of today's Richmond County Daily Journal.)

Edited again: "Gotta Be Somebody" has just been added to the playlist at AOL's New Country First online radio station. (This wasn't such a "quick news" post after all, was it? Congratulations, Bucky!)

More soon--good to see you!
