Monday news: Bucky Covington in Mississippi, photos from California, a chart check and more...

Bucky Covington on stage at the Merced County Fair in Merced, California; many thanks to the very gracious Minnie for this terrific shot! Click the image to check out Bucky's official concert schedule.

If you're in the mood for some excellent live rockin' country music, the Neshoba County Fair in Philadelphia, Mississippi is the place to be tomorrow night! Bucky Covington and his band are the headliners, the show starts at 8 pm, and a good Southern-style time is assured. Radio station 97 OKK in Meridian may have some souvenirs for us in the coming days; stay tuned and feel free to request "I Want My Life Back" while you're listening...

Bucky's next few tour stops include the Marion County Fair Fire Jam in Hillsboro, Kansas on Friday (tickets), the Chemung County Fair in Horseheads, NY on Wednesday, August 5th, and the Fayette County Fair in Dunbar, PA on Thursday, August 6th. More details on these shows are available in Sunday's news post--and for a look at Bucky's schedule through the end of the year, check out Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page. (Get to a live show, y'all--these guys are amazing!)

Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington share a "mirror image bow" after a performance of "Seven Spanish Angels" deep in the heart of Texas; many thanks to our talented friend Texas Proud Bucky Fan for providing this very cool image. (Click the image to see a larger version.)

We're going to shamelessly steal the next two must-see links from Buckytown USA's excellent weekly update--thanks, Fran and Renee! The Merced County Fair in Merced, CA has its own beautiful photo gallery filled with great images from all the activities there, including shots of Bucky and his band and Sawyer Brown onstage.

Steve Cook, the multi-talented bassist in Bucky's band, updated his Shiny Bass Journal last night--his account of his exceptionally busy life on the road is always good reading.

A quick chart check: the morning Mediabase report shows "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] at #33 with a bullet--a hop from Sunday morning's #34 spot, and a very short step to Top 30. We'll keep requesting! (It'd be great to have this week be the week for Bucky's next big chart milestone...)

Finally, here's a fun video memory from the Merced County Fair, courtesy of the boyfriend of KUBB's contest winner. She won a trip backstage and brought a very young fan along; the sweet serenade they enjoyed will make you smile, even on a Monday morning. Thanks to Ranger337 for graciously sharing this moment at YouTube. Have a magnificent Monday--see you very soon!--Winnie
