Monday news: chart gazing, video memories and more...

Bucky Covington chats with the audience at his recent Indiana State Fair show; click here to enjoy a lovely Flickr photoset of concert photos by the very kind Buckybaby01. (Thanks again, Buckybaby!)
Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

It's looking like a quiet Monday morning--no Power Picks, no newspaper links, and no concert on the menu--but as past history has proven around here, quiet mornings don't necessarily mean uneventful days for Bucky Covington fans. However, here's a bit of good news to get the week started: Bucky's beautiful hit single, "A Different World", is still standing tall at #5 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts this morning. (It was also #5 on most of the syndicated countdowns yesterday--could that sought-after official Billboard Hot Country Songs Top 5 spot be in Bucky's future this week? Keep requesting, keep voting, and keep the faith...and if you're loving the sunlit "Different World" video, keep giving it the thumbs-up at GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown and CMT's Top Twenty Countdown, too.)

Speaking of videos, Buckaholic mentioned in her great recap of the Indiana State Fair concert that Bucky's filming the video for his second single in September--something to look forward too, for sure! In the meantime, there's plenty of fun fan-created video to enjoy; Lisa/letusjudge of Buck Wild fame was at the Mountain Days Festival in Dayton over the weekend, and she graciously shares her clip of Bucky greeting the fan club on YouTube. (And if you haven't seen her gorgeously-done Bucky Covington channel at Go Fish, hurry over and check it out!) Also, a new Bucky Covington/Sawyer Brown fan-created video just hit the rounds; a kind concertgoer pointed her camera at the Jumbotron and captured Mark Miller's funny and affectionate introduction and Bucky's performance of "American Friday Night" at an unnamed show. (A kind anonymous commenter identified this as WE Fest footage--much appreciated!) Many thanks to the videographer for sharing this one on her MySpace blog.

We'll close for now with a link to WYCD in Detroit, where the station is anticipating Bucky's Wednesday performance at the Michigan State Fair. The profile there will be familiar to longtime fans, but the photos (taken at the spring Downtown Hoedown in Detroit) are fun to see. WYCD's Hoedown gallery is here--we're crossing our fingers that they'll send a photographer to the Michigan State Fair, too. If you'd like to go, here are those details again:

Hopefully he'll get that #5 this week. It's the last chance as he'll likely go recurrent next week. ADW really had a great run.

  2. Good Morning! Well, Kellie Pickler was in town in yesterday and I have to say... I was a little disappointed in her show. Zach was sad she didn't do a signing after. Oh well, on a bright note I heard the couple sitting behind us say, Bucky was much better last week! Yeah!!!!!!!!!

  3. Hi Anon and Kathy! :) Anon, I agree--"A Different World" couldn't have been a sweeter way for Bucky to make his radio debut. And that fact that it's been on the charts for 31 weeks really says so much about the song and about Bucky's performance. We could not have asked for a sweeter debut!

And Kathy, hey! I am sorry Zach didn't get a chance to meet his favorite lady Idol--I know he loves him some Kellie. Maybe next show in town she'll do a signing! Those autograph and schmoozing sessions go a long way with fans, so I hope she or her people will be able to make room for more of those. Zach is gonna get to say hi to his Kellie eventually. :)

Winnie, Bucky says "Are we having a good time, WE-FEsT". So that was in Minnesota!

  5. Thanks for solving that mystery, Anon--you are a life saver! I will edit the post with that info. (I couldn't hear all of the audio in the clip, but I'm sure glad you could. :)

I came across some interesting tidbits. I was looking at Allaccess under their "hotpicks" And "Its Good to Be Us" Is a hot pick at 2 stations (already) the stations are
    WEGX Florance,Sc
    KWLI Denver

ADW is still listed as a hotpick at 4 stations on the Allaccess site.
Looks like Bucky's 2nd single will be a HIT (not even released and already a hotpick) GO BUCKY!!!! WOOHOO!!!!

Looks like Bucky may have a little company on Sept 10. Taylor Swift's "Our Song" Is going for Adds on Sept 10 as well as Kellie and Bucky. Im not too happy about the 3 of them releasing on the same day. We will ALL have to do our part and get Bucky up that chart. We are a strong fanbase, we CAN do it.

  8. Marzy, hi and thanks! You know, it's not surprising that some of the stations would jump the gun with "It's Good to Be Us"--he's coming off a huge hit (still in the Top Ten, after all) and the slow, steady climb of "A Different World" is keeping that song a "Hot Pick" on stations that were late to jump the bandwagon. Interesting but good position for him to be in right now! :)

And Anon 3:48, you're so right about Bucky's fanbase being strong--and growing. I think that Taylor and Kellie will be fine companions to Bucky on the charts--there's room for all three to make things very interesting. I am no expert on radio (at all!) but with "A Different World" ending up as big a hit as it has been, there's no danger of him being ignored by your local program director, no matter how many songs are going for adds that day. He is a hot commodity! :)

  9. Yes, Bucky's fan base is growing stronger every day. Just look at how everyone pulled together for the top album voting. I don't think Kellie or Taylor stand a chance against "It's Good to be Us"!!!
