Bucky Covington's busy weekend, a pair of Kings Fair shots, Taste of Country and more...

Thanks again to for sharing this concert  video at YouTube--here's Bucky Covington and his band performing "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" for a delighted crowd in Portsmouth, Ohio a little while back.  Bucky's full concert schedule is available at eOne, and his live show totally rocks--be there!

Bucky Covington's current single "I Wanna Be That Feeling"  (up for votes at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown and  CMT Pure's Pure 12 Pack, and up for requests at your local country station!) is gracing the airwaves beautifully, and his upcoming fall single, "Drinking Side of Country", is generating buzz as well.  Music City Encore covered the latter as part of their most recent "new music" preview, and this observation closed up the column in style:

"Shortly after splashing onto the country scene, Bucky received minor ridicule due solely to the fact that he was another American Idol contestant taking a stab at a music career. This guy is a great singer, songwriter, and musician. We’re lucky to have him here in country music…and we can’t wait to hear his new album, again, due September 11."

Needless to say, we couldn't agree more!

Bucky's got a busy weekend coming up--it kicks off tomorrow with the big Cotton Eyed Joe Customer Appreciation Party & Free Concert in Knoxville, TN on Thursday, July 12th (print your free ticket at Showclix) and a show at Generations in Wheeling, WV on July 13th (tickets at Showclix), then continues on Saturday, July 14th at the Putnam County Fair in Eleanor, WV. WQBE is sponsoring the show, and the music gets underway at 8:30 pm.  (The site says "seating available or bring your lawn chairs", but we're guessing Bucky will have you on your feet and clapping, no matter what seating option you choose...)

We'll close with a couple of interesting odds and ends:  Taste Of Country has a fascinating glimpse behind the lyrics of "I Wanna Be That Feeling" as shared by Ben Hayslip, who co-wrote the beautiful song with Jimmy Yeary; and the Hanford Sentinel's gallery from the closing day of Kings Fair is book-ended by two great concert shots of Bucky at the mic.  We'll be back very soon--enjoy the evening!
