Tuesday brunch video: Bucky Covington, "Hold a Woman", concert news, and more WorkPlay show info...

Bucky Covington and his band performed "Hold a Woman" for a delighted crowd at The Intersection in Grand Rapids--this is one of the first times the song was played live, and it was a major hit straight out of the gate. Thanks to Danna Marie for capturing it so beautifully!

We're a little short on hot news this so far today, y'all--however, last night's concert announcement was a biggie. (The Country 92.3 Concert For Kids benefit is happening on February 1, 2010, featuring Joe Nichols, Bucky Covington, Jimmy Wayne and a whole galaxy of country music stars. Tickets go on sale Thursday--be there if you can!)

So we'll start things off quickly for now with a few reminders--Bucky's "Gotta Be Somebody" music video jumped from #12 to #8 at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, and we're aiming for #1! Click that link to give it a boost, and vote for Bucky at CMT's Pure 12-Pack, too.

On the live scene, we've got two more shows left in January; the LHS Country Showdown, a classic benefit for the LHS Boosters, happens on the 23rd in Liberal, Kansas, and you can snag your seat locally at Crazy House in Garden City. The 2nd Avenue Live show in Nashville on the 30th is an 18-and-up affair, and tickets are available online at TicketWeb.com.

Bucky Covington, Rocky Covington (at left) and a strong summer breeze share the stage in Palmdale in this fantastic shot by a talented but bashful photgrapher. Thanks, Anon! Rocky's up for votes as favorite percussionist in Modern Drummer's readers poll until 2/15.

Enjoy Bucky and company and The Band Perry at WorkPlay in Birmingham, AL on February 9th, when 102 Five the Bull presents their St. Jude's benefit concert. Tickets are on sale now at the WorkPlay box office online (via TicketBiscuit) for $20 plus a convenience charge, and a little more information about the venue has been added to the site:

Unless otherwise noted, shows in the Theatre have very limited seating. WorkPlay highly recommends that if you would like a seat to this show, that you arrive to the venue before the doors are opened, as seating is first come first serve. Please keep in mind that arriving early does not guarantee you a seat, but simply increases your chances of obtaining one. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Also, there's new note about age limits: "A $3.00 charge will be collected at the door from all ticket holders under the age of 21. Unless otherwise noted, all ticket holders must be at least 18 years old OR be accompanied by an adult 18 or older." Sounds like they're expecting a big crowd--get your ticket ASAP, and get there as early as you can...

Finally, there's another great song poll in progress--head on over to Buck Wild now, and let Lisa/Judge know which of Bucky's current tunes (including his covers of "Sail On" and "Unchain My Heart") are tops on your hit parade. Have fun, and enjoy your Tuesday!
