A countdown update, a Kansas weekend, and more...

Thanks to Happydays for this great photo of Bucky Covington on stage in Biloxi, MS. (Click the image to check out Bucky's official concert schedule.)

Many thanks to the very kind Hildi for alerting us to the changes over at CMT's Pure 12-Pack, where it looks as though Bucky Covington's terrific "Gotta Be Somebody" music video has been retired from the ballot. However, it's going out on a high note--the CMT show page is on the blink at post time, but a kind emailer says it's #4 for the week. (Please note--that's unconfirmed, since the list page for the week is still down. We'll update as soon as we get confirmation.) Congrats to Bucky, and thanks to everyone for voting! You can still vote for Bucky daily on GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, where the video's #9 this week.

Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington (at left) on stage at the Iowa State Fair, as captured by the talented Judy Lang--thanks again! Rocky's eligible for "favorite percussionist" votes in Modern Drummer's readers poll until 2/15.

In live news, Bucky and his band are on their way to Liberal, Kansas even as we speak, according to his official Twitter. (Follow him, y'all!) Tonight, the showdown between local country acts is taking place, and the winner will open for Bucky at the LHS Country Showdown fundraiser tomorrow night. You might be able to snag a last minute ticket at Crazy House in Garden City--hope you can be there!

And of course, Bucky and his band will rock 2nd Avenue Live in Nashville on the 30th; seats for this 18-and-over show are available online at TicketWeb.com.

Have a great evening!

On CMT Pure Pack--they have 3 Holiday songs to vote for and no Bucky??? That seems strange.
