Bucky Covington's return to the road, Sound and Speed photos, a "Giants" memory and more...

Bucky Covington shares a smile with the crowd at the Greeley Stampede in Greeley, CO; thanks again to Judy Lang for sharing her excellent concert photos.

Updated: Bev Moser of
Moments By Moser was present at this weekend's Sound and Speed event, and her stellar images of Bucky Covington and his fellow country music and NASCAR stars are available now in this Flickr photoset. Enjoy!--W

Bucky Covington and his band are rested and ready to rock, and his fans in Indianapolis and Baltimore can't wait! They'll be performing at the 8 Seconds Saloon in Indianapolis on Friday, 1/15 (21-and-over; tickets on sale at Ticketmaster , or click the banner below). On Saturday, 1/16, Bucky, Chris Young and Easton Corbin are the stars of the WPOC for Kids, a 21-and-up benefit for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, at Luckie's Tavern in Baltimore, MD. (We're still looking for word on the age limits, if any, for that 2nd Avenue Live show on the 30th--stay tuned...)

Bucky was apparently a very late addition to this year's Sound and Speed festival in Nashville over the weekend--so late that even his official site and the Sound and Speed artist list didn't note his appearance. However, those who were there for the double-the-fun mix of country music and NASCAR thrills enjoyed meeting Bucky, who gave this quote to USA Today's Nate Ryan:

Bucky Covington, whose debut album debuted at No. 1 on the country album charts in 2007, says he went to Sound and Speed because "I think my dad is still (ticked) that I'm not a NASCAR driver.

"I love coming to these things," said Covington, who got a photo with Dale Earnhardt Jr. "When I come to these events, I'm a fan."

There's a terrific photo of Bucky with Dale Earnhardt Jr. available at TwitPic today--thanks to Lisa/Judge of BuckWild and WestCoastGal88 for sharing the link. We'll keep an eye out for more...

Rocky Covington and Bucky Covington enjoy some brotherly harmony in this great shot by Judy Lang from last sunmmer's KJJY Big Country Bash--thanks again, Judy!

We'll wind it down for the evening with a few important reminders. (Yep, there's a nag coming on, but it's painless.) Bucky's video for "Gotta Be Somebody" is a pleasure to watch, and the viewers at GAC and CMT seem to agree--it's climbing both countdowns fast, and we can help it along with votes at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown and CMT's Pure 12-Pack. Feel free to give a quick call, eQuest or Tweet to your local country radio DJ tonight, too. (Click here for a handy local station finder.)

Got a syndicated program on your airwaves tonight? Call the host or hostess you're listening to and ask for Bucky:

Finally (whew!) an update on our song survey--we've got three days to go, and so far "Mexicoma" and "Hold A Woman" are the two frontrunners when it comes to which of Bucky's songs you'd like to hear on the radio this coming spring. Here's another great fan video of a song from the list--many thanks to Colllleeen for capturing this sweet performance of "Giants" from Bucky and his band's show in Schaefferstown, PA. (Thanks also to guest star Morgan for being flat-out adorable...awwww.) Have a great night!

  2. Nope, it works just fine for me! But just in case, I think everyone reading these words ought to go hit the ballot and do a test vote for Bucky...
