Quick Wednesday news: Bucky Covington at the Acreage Fall Fest, 11/14 and more...

Thanks again to our talented friend Judy Lang for this photo of Bucky Covington during his recent Iowa State Fair performance. Click the image to see Bucky's tour schedule at his official site.

Remember that semi-mysterious, question-mark-studded Acreage Fall Fest page we linked to a few days ago? The entertainment section is updated, and it's confirmed: Bucky Covington and his excellent band will be headlining this fun event in West Palm Beach, FL on 11/14. General admission to the fair is $10, and it's a free day for active duty military personnel and children under three. WIRK are your sponsors; if you're local, stay tuned for more information and possible freebies, contests and goodies. Have fun!

Bucky and company have a jam-packed autumn tour schedule, and new dates seem to be added pretty frequently--as always, we'll point you to Bucky's MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky's official tour page for the full scoop.

Thanks to WBEE for this audio widget--click here for info on how to win tickets to their 11/4 "Guitars & Stars" benefit concert featuring Bucky Covington, headliner Josh Turner, Kellie Pickler, Sara Evans, Phil Vassar, and Jimmy Wayne.

On your radio, "Gotta be Somebody", Bucky's new single, is making waves at more and more stations--Monday's the technical radio impact date, but it's safe to say that the chart chase is well underway now. This one's a little different in some respects; the song's already familiar to some rock/country radio listeners, the arrangement (love those banjos!) is innovative and lighthearted, and the upbeat tempo is a change of pace for Bucky on radio, after two strong and serious ballads.

One thing that isn't different at all is the amount of support and applause Bucky needs from his radio-listening, country-loving fans! It's still a little tougher for newer artists now than it was back in '07, but there are plenty of superstars-to-be making their way to the upper reaches of the country charts. As you might have guessed (shocker, I know!) it's our firm belief here at Buckymania that Bucky's distinctive and beautiful voice belongs right up there, too.

Every request, survey vote and thank you note means a lot. Many of us (including me, alas) are more pressed for time than ever in these recessionary days, and the active-fan tasks aren't always the easiest things to squeeze into a busy schedule. But everyone I know who has had the pleasure of seeing Bucky and his band live this year--and even those of us who haven't yet--would testify to the fact that it's 100% worth it. (It's hard to explain the joy of live music--and the joy of supporting hard-working, talented artists who deserve a chance--to those who've never felt the thrill. But I know y'all know what I mean...)

More later--enjoy your Wednesday, everyone!
