Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington (right) take a break during the filming of the music video for "Gotta Be Somebody" in Rockingham, NC. The video will debut online and TV later this month. (Photo by our very generous friend Judy Lang--thanks so much!)Edited to add a link to Viewfinder Blues, where Stewart Pittman's thoughtful reflections on Bucky Covington's homecoming visit are a must-read. (Go!) Thanks to a kind anon commenter for the heads-up.
Bucky Covington and his excellent band wrap up a rockin' weekend tonight in Rosehayn, NJ at the Deerfield Township Harvest Fest; the Carter Twins get the music started at 7:00, Bucky and company take the stage at 8:15, and the evening ends with fireworks at 9:30. Sounds like a beautiful way to spend a Sunday in October--hope you'll be there!
Coming up: a general-admission concert at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, OH on Friday, 10/16. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster, and admission to the Congress is separate; see their site for details. For full concert schedule updates, be sure to bookmark Bucky's MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky's official tour page.
Bucky Covington on stage at the Kitsap County Fair--thanks again to the very kind Lacypony for the photo.More and more stations are playing Bucky's new single "Gotta Be Somebody" [listen to it at WBEE] ahead of its official 10/19 impact date--we love it! In addition to the stations currently on board, it popped up at 95.7 The Wolf in San Francisco and Cat Country 98.7 in Pensacola this weekend--could your station be next? (I will freely admit that I'm pretty excited about the ongoing buzz attending Bucky's new release--our inbox at Buckymania is smokin'. Feel free to let everyone know when you hear it at your local country station, and be sure to tell the station you're loving it, too...)
A couple of television encores are on the menu today--catch Bucky on the rerun of People Country on CMT at 11:00 a.m. ET/PT, and the Season 5 Greensboro episode of American Idol Rewind (featuring some previously unseen footage from Bucky's audition and a 2009 interview snippet) will repeat sometime today on the TV Guide Channel in most areas--check your local cable listings for details.
Finally, some very short (but very cool!) video clips from what we're hearing was a wild, wild show--we're hoping that more footage and photo goodness from Bucky's set at Icabod's in Fort Myers turns up, but in the meantime, here's a glimpse (and another) from the very kind scrappinandyappin at YouTube. Thanks for posting these! Have a beautiful Sunday--Winnie
