Bucky Covington's "Gotta Be Somebody" music video: happy premiere day! (updated with Billboard news)

Click to watch Bucky Covington, Gotta Be Somebody, on CMT.comBucky Covington just released a brand new music video for his current single, "Gotta Be Somebody". It's his first official video since 2007's "It's Good to Be Us"--and it's hot! The clip debuted on CMT.com late last night, and it's been popping up all over the place this afternoon. If you'd like to let Bucky know how much you're enjoying it, hop over to his MySpace blog, where you can watch it (again and again) and leave comments and kudos.

No word at this hour on when Bucky's video will make its TV debut, but it looks like it's about time to add those CMT Top 20 Countdown and GAC Top 20 Country Countdown links to the sidebar. (Yep, the voting fun is about to begin all over again...)

Huge apologies and major thanks to our talented friend Texas Proud Bucky Fan, who sent this striking, dramatic black-and-white photo of Bucky Covington on stage in San Angelo. (It was lost in our mailbox for a week, but was definitely worth waiting for!) Our margins don't do this one justice; please click the image to view it full size. For a look at Bucky's concert schedule, visit his official site.

Meanwhile, the live fun continues this week with a sold-out stop in Las Vegas tomorrow for 102.7 The Coyote's Fan Jam, and an acoustic benefit show in Cedar Springs, MI, as part of B93's "Roofsit 2009" series on Wednesday. The show is happening at Tractor Supply (4011 17 Mile Rd NE) between 6-7 pm, and it's free--what a great way to shake off that mid-week slump.

More chart news will come in as the week gets going, but we do have a little update from Country Aircheck--"Gotta Be Somebody" was the 12th most-added song at country radio this past week, with 7 new stations hopping on board. Yes, your local station might be among them--listen close! With the video making waves, chances are you'll have more company on those request lines than ever before.

We'll close with a couple of "last call" ticket reminders: seats for the 2009 Kiss Country Guitar Jam in Asheville on November 17th are getting scarce, so if you're thinking of going, snag yours soon! Bucky, Jason Michael Carroll, Luke Bryan, Jessica Harp and Justin Moore are the stars of this benefit for the Mission Children's Hospital, and tickets ($20) are on sale now at the Kiss Country studios, the Orange Peel box office, and via TheOrangePeel.net.

Finally, the November 7th 21-and-over Darryl Worley/Bucky Covington concert at the IP Casino Resort and Spa in Biloxi, MS is just around the corner--be sure and get your seats at Ticketmaster soon.

Update: Billboard's Country Indicator chart for the week has been released, and Bucky's "Gotta Be Somebody" is making some sweet and steady progress--it moved up to the #45 spot, from last week's #49.

Have a great evening--Winnie
