Monday news: Bucky Covington's busy August, a GAC reminder, chart check and more...

Thanks to the very talented Judy Lang for this front-row-perspective photo from Bucky Covington's concert in Hillsboro, Kansas this past weekend. Click the image to find out when you can enjoy Bucky and his band at a live show near you!

Many thanks to Fran and Renee for clearing up a concert-related mystery this morning in their beautiful Buckytown USA update--that Friday, August 7th Bucky Covington show at Dave & Bob's in Winchester, Virginia is a very intimate acoustic event! Call Dave & Bob's at 540-678-0227 for info and reservations, and head on over to Buckytown for more details on what's sure to be a fantastic evening.

Here's a quick look at the rest of this week's concert stops:

Wednesday, 8/5: Catch Bucky and the band at the Chemung County Fair in Horseheads, New York. Tickets can be purchased by phone at at 607-734-1203, and sponsoring station 99.5 WOKN is running ticket giveaway contests even as we speak. (So tune in!)

Thursday, 8/6: Enjoy Bucky at the Fayette County Fair in Dunbar, PA; click-and-print tickets are available online. Kellie Lynne opens the show, and Froggy 101 are your sponsors.

Saturday, 8/8: Have a fun country-style summer day at the Schaefferstown Fireman’s Carnival in Schaefferstown, PA--bring your own lawn chair when the gates open at 2 in the afternoon, enjoy games and delicious fair food, and rock with Bucky and the band when the show begins at 7 in the evening.

(Edited to add an update: WestMichiganCountry.com reports that the Bucky Covington concert scheduled for August 22nd at Moreland's Motocross Park & Expo in Stanton has been canceled. We'll post more info as soon as it's available.)

Our daily reminder to bookmark Bucky's MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page belongs right here--summer's winding down, but Bucky and his band are on the road all year long. You'll want to be there when they come to your town!

Bucky's always as close as your radio--or he can be, with a quick and easy request for "I Want My Life Back" at your local country station. (Not very subtle, am I?) Bucky's new single begins the week at #35 with a bullet on Mediabase, and if you think there's a logjam on the entrance ramp to that Top 30 express lane, you're not alone. Patience, perseverance and a whole lot of phone button pushin'...it's our best move for now, and even though it seems like a simple thing, calling to request Bucky means a lot. (Radio stations don't know the locals like a song unless the locals tell 'em...)

Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington rock the crowd in Hillsboro; thanks to Judy Lang for sharing the fun.

After you've voted for "I Want My Life Back" in your local "Top X at X" countdown survey, be sure to keep our good friend Larry K of WKML in mind--drop him a note at country@
wkml.com and ask for Bucky for today's "Top 5 at 6". (WKML's been backing Bucky from the start, and they were the first station quoted in the original trade ad for "A Different World", so they've got a special place in our hearts...)

Finally, feel free to give Bucky a video shoutout at GAC's Top 20 My First Time Countdown--nope, his video for "A Different World" isn't on the ballot, but they've asked for suggestions at gacnews@gactv.com. We can write in and let them know we'd love to see his previous (and future!) videos on GAC.

Speaking of "A Different World", we'll leave you with this classic directed by Trey Fanjoy--as Fran and Renee pointed out today, the video for "I Want My Life Back" is rumored (no confirmation yet) to be done and ready for release once the song hits the twenty-something zone on the charts. We're looking forward to the chart leap and the video! Have a beautiful Monday--Winnie

  3. I love it when Bucky wears his hit again. I know he hasn't done it for a long time, but he sure rocks that hat when he does!

  4. Hello Anons and Cathy Anne--sorry I missed you down here! :) Yep, very happy about those adds--word has it the song's actually doing better in listener surveys than the chart position would indicate, so it's bound to move up.

And Cathy Anne, I'm so with you on the headgear--some guys really wear the cowboy hat well, and he's one of them!
