Quick Thursday news: Bucky Covington's weekend shows, Billboard update, chart check and more...

Heads up! Thanks to Judy Lang for this fun shot from Bucky Covington's Fourth of July performance at the Greeley Stampede in Greeley, CO. Click the image to see when he and his excellent band will be coming your way.

Here's a very quick look at what's happening right now:

First and foremost, there's good news on the Mediabase charts today--Bucky Covington's new single "I Want My Life Back" got its bullet back this morning. It begins the day at #34, and we're hoping for that traffic jam at the thirty-something level to finally ease up a bit. Billboard lists the song at #36 for the week--down one from last week, in a very closely-packed chart. Give your local country station a call and show Bucky some love, and write Larry K of WKML at country@wkml.com to give Bucky a boost on Fayetteville's "Top 5 at 6" countdown, too. ("I Want My Life Back" graced that show yesterday evening, and we love a winning streak..)

Bucky and his excellent band are on a winning streak on the road, too--they're impressing crowds from coast to coast, if the Twitter buzz is any indication! Your next opportunity to catch that high-energy show happens tomorrow at the Marion County Fair Fire Jam in Hillsboro, Kansas. Tickets ($20) are available online at the Jam's site, and Kebo Cyrus will open the show.

Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington harmonized during Bucky's Alameda County Fair concert a couple of weeks ago; many thanks to Minnie for the photo.

Coming up soon: a show at the Chemung County Fair in Horseheads, New York on Wednesday, 8/5 (call 607-734-1203 to order tickets by phone, and listen to 99.5 WOKN for your chance to win your seats) and on Thursday, 8/6, catch Bucky and company at the Fayette County Fair in Dunbar, PA, sponsored by Froggy 101. As always, bookmarking Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page is highly recommended--and getting to a show this summer is an absolute must!

Finally, a big thanks to you for bearing with the light posting and general craziness while Buckymania is being upgraded and redecorated. What you're experiencing today is the bare-bones version of the new layout--there's still plenty of gizmo-adding and rearranging ahead, but the main idea is to make this place a bit more fun and informative as we head into our fourth (fourth!) year of enjoying Bucky Covington's musical journey together. (Some of y'all can see that your excellent ideas are already implemented--please feel free to write to me at buckymaniablog@yahoo.com and share more.) It looks like I wasn't the only one with the redecorating bug--check out the new and dazzling Idol Chatter blog at USA Today. Gotta love the lilac glow...

Meanwhile, it's back to the HTML/XML/(insert three-letter code here) for me--see you later today with more news. In the absence of an official music video for "I Want My Life Back" (currently the #1 search bringing new readers to Buckymania--we longtime fans would love to see an official music video for this song, too!) we'll share this fan-video beauty from Lisa Marie at MySpace. Here's Bucky Covington, Jeff Cease and Ducky Medlock performing a graceful acoustic version of Bucky's new single during their WMAD/Star Country "Stripped" performance in Madison. (More videos and photos from Bucky's visit to Madison are posted at Star Country's website, and check out the beautiful shots at the It's Good to Be Us blog, too.) Have a lovely Thursday!--Winnie
