Saturday morning wake up call: Bucky Covington's "I Want My Life Back" and "It's Good to Be Us" (acoustic)

A lovely acoustic performance to ease you into Saturday. reposted by request--Bucky Covington, with Steve Cook and Ducky Medlock, performed his new single "I Want My Life Back" at the Nashville Arthritis Walk earlier this spring. The video was captured by the very kind indygal1977, who posted it at YouTube. Thanks to Indygal1977 for sharing!

It's the Saturday morning before CMA Fest week, and all's well--at last check, Bucky's "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] graced the Friday afternoon Mediabase charts at #40 with a promising red bullet at its side. (Chart update from a very kind anonymous commenter: "Big Fat Bullets are so pretty: +150 published at #39; +216 all stations at #37". Thanks!) This weekend should be a good one for the song's fast-building momentum--we'll be requesting and it'll be played on Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40. We're hoping to hear it on a few new local and national countdowns, as well. Check out Bucky on Bob's current chart page. Momentum is a beautiful thing, so we'll have fun keeping the ball rolling...

In live news, both of Bucky's next two shows are private affairs; one's sold out (today's acoustic concert at Six Flags New England, sponsored by Cat Country/WCTK) and the other is winners-only (a WWYX/Country 92.5 acoustic performance in Hartford, CT on Monday, June 8.) However, things get as public as possible in Nashville for days at CMA Fest--enjoy our guide to Bucky's Fest schedule in the previous post, and if you're going, be sure to bring a camera.

Finally, a little extra acoustic goodness, courtesy of the talented FLCathy--this performance of Bucky's previous Top Ten hit, "It's Good to Be Us", was taken back in February, and it looks like part of the Disney's Hollywood Studios' American Idol Experience celebration. Kudos to FLCathy for her generosity. See you later today--Winnie
