A quick news sweep on a quiet Friday morning:
Nashville's Riverfront Stages will ring out with the sound of great country music all day today, and Bucky Covington and his excellent band will be part of the excitement--their set begins at about 11 am local time, and we'll be stopping in at CMT and GAC for photos and souvenirs from CMA Fest as the day rolls on...
After the Fest performance, Bucky and the band hit the road again--tomorrow at 4:45 pm or so, they'll grace the Main Stage at the Winstock Country Music Festival in Winsted, Minnesota. Sunday, catch Bucky at KHEY's New Country Showcase at Wet n' Wild in El Paso, where he'll headline a bill that also features Chris Young, Whitney Duncan and Justin Moore. (Sounds like our kind of party!)

Thanks to the very kind Bucky Wild for today's request banner!
As for those of us who'll be partying with Bucky via the magic of radio this weekend, things are lookin' good--"I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] is holding strong at #37 with a bullet on the Mediabase published charts this morning. However, that bullet could use a little plumping up, y'all. Call your local country DJ (lunchtime requests and "Top X at X" will do for a start) and ask for Bucky's latest--and of course, write our good friend Larry K at country@wkml.com and show Bucky some love for WKML's "Top 5 at 6".

Photo by Wendy Newcomer, GACTV.com.Finally, a huge congrats to all who were able to meet Bucky for the first time at CMA Fest yesterday. He's an incredibly fan-friendly guy, and something tells me that our little uptick in readership this week is due to some brand-new supporters stopping in--welcome! The magic of Fan Fair lingers on, and as this fun picture from Bucky's afternoon at last year's Fest shows, even the stars have a good time meeting the stars. Hope to see you there next year!
PS: Slow news day? Not really--thanks to Anon in comments (below) , Listening Ears in email and Bucky in this video interview with 94.9 The Bull for the name of that much-speculated-upon Commodores tune on his upcoming album. "Sail On" will showcase Bucky's country-soulful side beautifully, and we can't wait to hear it. Bucky Covington's new CD is scheduled to drop September 8th--mark your calendars, folks. This one's gonna be hot! More soon--Winnie
