Time for a true confession--I'm a little sentimental about this one, since Bucky Covington's performance of Pat Green's "Wave on Wave" on American Idol back in '06 was the direct inspiration for this very blog you're reading. (First thought that night: "I would so buy that guy's album...) From last month's Harker Heights, Texas show, enjoy Bucky and his band's current spin on the song, courtesy of the very kind DiamondstarBC. Thanks to her for posting it at YouTube!
Here's a quick check of the Mediabase published charts for this afternoon: Bucky Covington's new single "I Want My Life Back" is still gracing the #37 spot at the moment, but it looks like there's excitement ahead, with a couple of former hits making their graceful way down from above and a superstar set to pole vault up from below. Requests are going to make a big difference these next few days, y'all! Keep your local country radio request line numbers handy as you get ready to enjoy a beautiful summer weekend...
A beautiful summer date is on deck for the fans out in Indio, CA next month, when Bucky and his band play the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino on July 10th. Looks like those VIP tickets we mentioned in our previous post about the show are sold out, but general admission tickets are still available at the casino's online box office. (If your heart's still set on the VIP seats, call the Fantasy Springs box office at 760-342-5000 for the latest information, and good luck!) See you later this evening--Winnie
"Wave on Wave" has always been my favorite AI performance by Bucky!!!
ReplyDeleteHi, Anon! That one really impressed me, too--you could just hear that he'd sound awesome on a full CD. (And doesn't it feel good to be right about that? ;)
