Saturday update: A little news from Winstock (Bucky Covington interview), Pigeon Forge photos and some CMA Fest memories...

Jeff Cease, Ducky Medlock, Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington on stage at Riverfront Park during yesterday's CMA Fest daytime show; many thanks to Diver for providing this beautiful concert shot.

Bucky Covington was interviewed by Ryan Gueningsman of the Delano Herald-Journal in advance of his show at 4:45 today at the Winstock Country Music Festival, and the excellent article posted on the festival's site features much information about Bucky's upcoming album. Among the news bites: a country version of Nickleback's "Gotta Be Somebody" is in the mix for his new CD (due September 8th, and sounding more intriguing all the time), the "music end" of the album is finished up and--bloggers rejoice!-- a new promo photo shoot got a mention...

Many thanks to all the kind fans who've shared their CMA Fest and Fan Club party memories. Bucky's first-ever Nashville fan club gathering was a smash success, with a full--and hot!--concert and a lot of sweet meet and greet time before the show. Bucky's charming young fan Kota presented Bucky with a bright sign autographed by Fan Club members, and from the smiles on those faces in the photo, it looks like the gift was a smash success, too. Thanks to Judy for the image! (To see video of Bucky and the band rocking the Fan Club party courtesy of MCN and Y'allwire, head over to UStream now.)

As for yesterday's show at Riverstages, a talented festival-going writer posted a review of the whole day's offerings in her family blog, and she had this to say about Bucky:

After The Oak Ridge Boys, American Idol's own Bucky Covington took the stage. He was awesome and COMPLETELY full of energy. He was the only artist all day to sign and give away the guitar he had played to an unexpected fan. He aimed to please the audience, which is GREAT and very impressive for a new and upcoming fella.

Yep, it's safe to say Bucky impressed a brand new batch of listeners this week!

Thanks to the very kind Buckaholic for this striking image from Bucky Covington's "I'll Walk" performance during the Fan Club party concert on 6/10.

If you're sorting through your shots from this past week's fun, why not share them at GAC? The channel's website has a special section for fan photos from CMA Fest and the various fan club gatherings; so far, there's one cute image of Bucky with two adorable young supporters, and we'd love to see more of Bucky's fans representin'...

Speaking of GAC, CathyAnne just mentioned via Twitter that she just spotted a "GAC Minute" with Bucky filmed in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; the WonderWorks Park Facebook has a few photos from the taping, and if GAC is in your cable lineup, keep an eye out for the finished segment.

Finally (whew!) a quick chart check reveals some gratifying upward motion at Billboard; "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] is #36 on this week's Hot Country Songs chart, up from #38 last week. (Thanks to Diver for the update.) The song is also #36 on Mediabase's published chart as of this morning--we love momentum! We can keep it going with requests all weekend long--make sure your local country station's request line number is handy as you're heading out for your summertime fun.

Bucky's live and loud weekend includes today's Winstock Country Music Festival show in Winsted, Minnesota at 4:45 pm, and the KHEY New Country Showcase at Wet n' Wild in El Paso tomorrow. Bookmark the sidebar at Buckytown USA and Bucky Covington's official tour page, and make plans to experience Bucky Covington and his stellar band this summer at a venue near you. (You'll be glad you did!) Enjoy your Saturday, and I'll see you here this evening--Winnie

Winnie, thank you so much for all you do to keep us updated, especially with all the info coming so quickly over the past few days! I can barely keep up with reading it, but you find it and report on it as well! :)

I was watching the "Wave On Wave" video below (told you I can barely keep up!) and it brought back so many memories of hitting redial over and over just a few years ago...and here we are today celebrating a fan club party, and a sophomore cd in just a few months! Very exciting!

  2. Laurianne thanks and hi! It's been a wild week--Bucky and the band have been so busy that it's nearly impossible to get caught up on it all, but that's always a good thing... :) Glad to hear that I'm not alone in being sentimental about "Wave on Wave"--it's been an amazing trip since then, hasn't it?
