Wednesday news: Bucky Covington on tour, wire photo archives and more...

Just because I flat-out like it--here's Bucky Covington, Rocky Covington, and that incredible band putting their soulful spin on "Seven Spanish Angels" before a happy crowd of troops and families during Bucky's recent USO tour.

at YouTube--thanks so much!

It's not the heaviest of news days (yet?), but here are a few reminders and updates to start things off:

Bucky Covington's newest single, "I Want My Life Back" [hear it here] is #44 on the Mediabase charts this morning. There'll be a radio post here soon--the industry's gone through a few changes since Bucky's debut album. In the meantime, a quick answer to a question we got in the mail: yes, yes, yes, requests still matter! Give your local country radio station a call (and/or email, or eQuest, or Twitter reply--whatever works) and let them know you want to hear Bucky.

Bucky's next scheduled live show is KNCI's Golf and Guitars event on May 15th in Scaramento; this star-studded event raises funds for children's charities including the Hope Productions Foundation and the Morton Golf Foundation. Also on the horizon: Bucky and the band will rock the Mazatzal Casino in Payson, AZ on Saturday, May 16th--ticket info and more details are available via the casino's site calendar. This one's sponsored by KMLE, and it's part of the Big Bass Challenge fun. (Thanks, Fran!)

Bucky Covington enjoys a breezy soundcheck before the Coshocton County Fair; this great blast from the past photo was taken by our very talented friend Trish. Thanks again!

The delayed ticket sales for the July 23rd Sawyer Brown/Bucky Covington Jackson County Fair show in Oregon are scheduled to begin today! Snag your ticket soon and enjoy some classic summer fun out West. (Buckytown USA's sidebar is a must-bookmark for concertgoing fans--tour news and changes get posted there fast...)

I'm guessing this isn't a new link to lots of Bucky's longtime fans, but if you're new to the party, it's a great way to catch up! The Life.com archives are packed full of wire photos of Bucky, arranged most recent to oldest; you'll find beautiful red-carpet, live performance and event photos by some of the best pro photographers around. Happy browsing!

We'll wrap up the morning with those good ol' poll reminders: give Bucky a round of applause at Today's Country Magazine (where he's featured in the "Country's Sexiest Bachelor" list) and at GAC's Top 20 Songs of Summer poll. More soon!--Winnie
