Dierks Bentley with Bucky Covington at the Farmington Civic Center, Feb 29

Another ticket update: Ticketmaster has added a page for Dierks Bentley's 2/29 concert at the Farmington Civic Center in Farmington, MO; Bucky Covington and Luke Bryan are opening, and this should be a hot one! From the Farmington Daily Journal Online:

Bentley will play the local venue on Feb. 29 and will be joined by former American Idol Bucky Covington and Luke Bryan. The concert is part of the Throttle Wide Open Tour.

Tickets go on sale for the concert at 10 a.m. on Jan. 19 at the Farmington Civic Center. Tickets can also be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations, and online at ticketmaster.com or by phone at 866-646-8849. A $1.25 service charge will be attached to all tickets sold at the Civic Center. Service charge fees through Ticketmaster were not available as of press time.

Ticket prices are $39.75 in the pit around the stage (standing room only), $39.75 reserved floor and $34.75 for reserved bleachers.

The article goes on to quote the Civic Center's director, Bill Towler, who says that the venue box office will have some pit tickets for sale, as well as some front and second row seats. "They will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis on Jan. 19.” (In other words--be there early in the morning.)

There's also a presale option for members of Dierks' fan club; that presale begins on 1/17 at 10:00 AM CST, and the All Access Bundle and internet presale begins 1/18. From the Ticketmaster page:

I know you said not to worry about Bucky's Amazon rank, but I can't help it...Its gotten really bad, now its 30,000+. I really hope his sales don't drop like this amazon rank has.

I only worry cause I only want to see Bucky succeed. And gold would be really nice to see.

To the worried anon above---Amazon rankings mean nothing in the big picture. Bucky's CD is still showing up on the Billboard country album chart while a certain winner of Idol season 5 was just dropped by his label. Once "I'll Walk" is released as his next single, I predict a big bump in sales.

Just came by to say good night . Someone asked on BCO what the second song Bucky sang at his Opry debut was after ADW. For the life of me, I could not remember because I was in such a daze. So I have just re-read all of your March 2007 posts. Wow, what a beautiful look at that exciting time . Your writing is so beautiful. I hope it will always be preserved. By the way, he sang Hometown.BF

YIKES, I just read on the Bucky AI thread that 1 store someone went to Bucky's CD had been discontinued. Now how can Bucky sell CD's if the stores are not getting anymore. I really hope Lyric Street is still shipping units out. Can't sell gold if they don't ship gold.

Lets get IG2BU to #1. REQUEST your little hearts everyone.

Ok, well I found the Cmt video top 50 list on mediabase and by the looks of it IG2BU is being played LESS than 3 times a week, same as ADW. The #50 song on their playlist is 3 spins per week. Its no wonder Bucky hasn't made the countdown. IG2BU doesn't get regular progamming spins. That sucks!!!

  9. Hi there, Buckyflowers and Anons! Buckyflowers, thanks so much for your very kind words--that was a wonderful night, wans't it? Magic all around--I think we all (including Bucky) really felt that sensation of history being made. What a joy!

Anons 8:46, 2:12 and 4:01--big hugs and a huge "keep the faith" to you. :) Bucky is going to be all right, I promise! If your localm department stroe is out of stick, the best thing to do is ask a floor manager or department head to order it--even a "special order" (really just an addition to the regular store order, but play along) will get the CD back on the shelves. That incident might have been a local decision. (I doubt that entire chains are discontinuing a CD with a #5 recurrent and a Top 30 and rising current single--they like money too... :)

Lyric Street is definitely still shipping units out. y'all!

As for CMT--believe me, I'd love it if they asked us about their programming decisions! All we can do to get more airtime for the video is keep on doing what we're doing now--vote in the countdowns and stream it on Loaded. And as Anon says, request! As it rises on Medibase, more people will join us in doing that--and as more people join us, the video gets more airtime.

I am so open to any suggestions for supporting "It's Good to Be Us" and the album, too! Feel free to share any contsructive thoughts--we are all absolutely delighted to see Bucky's success. Thanks!

Ok..here is my constructive advice of supporting IGTBU and the results of it. I got this email from my local Program Director yesterday.
"It should behoove you to know that your incessant emails have resulted in the adding of the Buckster’s new ditty. I think he owes you a bouquet!! You are correct…it is a delightful song, and being uptempo, well…I just love it!
    Happy New Year back atcha!"

I follow Buckymania advice and consistently and politely keep requesting the song. You have to get the radio people to know you and your love for Bucky's song.BF

  11. Thanks, Buckyflowers...love your local PD's sense of humor! You're so right about "getting to know" your local country station (and vice versa)--real local interest is a huge plus factor. And persisitence really does pay off--congrats! : Hope that bouquet is forthcoming... :)
