Quick Thursday news: CMT Top 20 today, Raisin' the Bar resumes, new clips at YouTube and more...

Bucky Covington rocks the house at Wild Bill's in Atlanta in this colorful portrait by Mike Clifton. Mr. Clifton of Local Sports Online was on hand for Bucky's concert in Atlanta in June, and his stunning gallery of shots from the show is an absolute must-see. Thanks again to Mr. Clifton for his incredible images--his contact info is available at the gallery link, and his beautiful work speaks for itself. Enjoy! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video for "A Different World" is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. A copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

Bucky Covington is Lance Smith's guest on CMT's Top 20 Countdown today at 9 a.m. ET-- tune in and catch Bucky as he talks about his brand new music video "It's Good to Be Us" (which you can watch at CMT.com right now) and shares the fun of his current Raisin' the Bar tour. There are plenty of repeat airtimes for this one, too--click here for a full list. And after you've seen him on the air, be sure to stop in at the Bucky Covington message board at CMT.com and see what the buzz is--or post your impressions and create a little buzz of your own!

The buzz in Iowa is sounding pretty positive; there's a short but very complimentary article at the Des Moines Register in anticipation of Bucky's concert at the Val Air Ballroom tomorrow night:

Covington rose to fame in 2006 as a contestant for "American Idol." Though the charmingly charismatic Covington has a great voice, he came up short after a long stint on the show. Bucky's rough style - even too rough for "Nashville Star" - kept him from winning any TV show contests, but he has built a huge following as a good ol' Southern boy.

Bucky's huge following will be out in force tonight, as the Raisin' the Bar tour gets back into full swing at the Trocaderos Night Club in Minneapolis. If you'd like to hear Bucky, Rocky, Shaun, Don and Hans raise a bar near you, check the list of tour dates below. Bucky, co-headliner Jason Michael Carroll and special guests Cole Deggs & the Lonesome are all set to make sure you have the time of your life--be there!

On the charts, Bucky's new tune is showing off some staying power. "It's Good to Be Us" holds the #32 notch on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts for the second straight day, and the suspense is mounting--when will Bucky's latest hit that sweet Top 30 spot? Keep requesting "It's Good to Be Us" at your favorite local or streaming country station, give it a high-five on your local "Top X at X' countdown, call up your favorite syndicated show with a request tonight, and give the video a round of applause at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown .

And we'll wrap it up for now with a visit to YouTube, where Jeano222 has added three more exciting clips from Bucky's recent show in Katy, Texas. (Bucky was definitely on fire that night!) Huge thanks to Jeano222 for letting us in on the fun!

Our apologies for the short post today--yesterday's goblins still haven't returned our DSL connection to us. We'll be back as soon as possible--in the meantime, keep rockin', keep requesting, and have a great Thursday!--Winnie

  5. Hey, Unknown and Kathy! Internet goblins (don't they realize Halloween happened yesterday?) but I hope we're both on track soon.

It was definitely fun to see Bucky's short visit to Top 20--he and my macho turkey-frying stepbrother have something in common! (What is it with guys and deep-frying turkeys? It's like a holiday sport in the rural areas up here, I tell ya...)

Very cool to see the video on TV! Now it needs to be on that countdown... :)
