Thursday news: a tour poll, Bucky on GAC tonight , new photos and more (updated with Chillicothe news)

Click photo to visit the 2008 CMA Fest site. Bucky Covington performs at the Complete Country Show at the Greased Lightning® Daytime Stages at Riverfront Park on Thursday, June 7 in Downtown Nashville during the 2007 CMA Music Festival. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club. (Provided by Country Music Association. Photo: Teresa Montgomery/ CMA.)

Yesterday's big announcement about the Raisin' the Bar Tour is already the hot topic of today's daily Interact poll at CMT.com. The question: Jason Michael Carroll and Bucky Covington have announced a tour together. Would you like to go? (My guess is that if you're checking out a blog called Buckymania, the answer is likely to be yes!) Click here to have your say on CMT's Interact page, and have fun...

Speaking of great country music cable channels, here's another reminder about tonight's special presentation on GAC:

Riverfront Concert Series: Bucky Covington, Trent Tomlinson & Sarah Buxton

Blake Shelton hosts this 13-part series, featuring the hottest performances from the Nashville Riverfront Park stage at the 2007 CMA Music Festival. Taped in June, the enthusiastic crowd enjoys entertaining performances from both established artists and up-and-comers. Blake takes to the streets to interact with the fans, and performing artists talk about all the fun at this year’s Music Festival. In this episode Bucky Covington, Trent Tomlinson & Sarah Buxton take the stage!

Lots of repeat airtimes for this one--GAC.com has them listed, and you've got many chances to enjoy Bucky, Rocky, Don, Shaun and Hans on TV this weekend. (Is this the full band's national TV debut? Edited--completely forgot about Fox and Friends, didn't I? Well, it's their GAC debut, and that counts as a milestone too, so...congratulations, guys!)

Enjoying Bucky's new song on the radio is getting easier than ever--as ogopogo kindly points out on the Bucky Covington thread at the Fox boards, "It's Good to Be Us" is making a strong showing on the Jump charts at Mediabase, indicating an increasing number of stations hopping on board and playing the tune. And Marzy tipped us off about the Taking Off chart, which breaks the information down by new stations and new spins--as of this morning, Bucky's number two on that one, second only to superstar Keith Urban. Yep, radio is excited about Bucky! When you hear "It's Good to Be Us" on your local country station, give them a thumbs up via phone or email...and if your station is among the ones who have officially added the song ahead of schedule, feel free to put in a gentle request. ("It's Good to Be Us" starts off Thurdsay morning at #59 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts again--be sure to click those links this afternoon for an update.)

Looking for some live Bucky Covington fun? Kentucky is the place to be tomorrow night--the band takes the stage at Fergie's, and the house will be rockin'! Here's the scoop:

And to wrap things up in a beautiful way, stop in at MaryMc's beautiful Photobucket gallery, where she has posted some excellent shots from both the Myrtle Beach House of Blues and Anderson, SC shows. Many thanks to Happydays for the link and to MaryMc for sharing her sweet memories.

Updated to add some news about that new Chillicothe concert date on October 14 (and a great photo, too) via the
Lancaster Eagle Gazette:

Bucky Covington will be returning to Ross County Sunday, Oct. 14. This time, the show will be indoors at Ohio University-Chillicothe. Covington was scheduled to play Aug. 9 at the Ross County Fairgrounds, but the show was rained out. However, he did do a short acoustic set in the stands for fans that waited around. Due to the canceled show, Southern Ohio Events is honoring all pre-sale ticket receipts from the August show. Details on how the exchange will work will be available over the next few days. For more information, visit www.southernohioevents.com or call the concert hotline at (740) 772-9222.

More very soon--have a lovely Thursday!
