Pizzi, you rock--thanks! Bucky Covington on stage at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach, 8/12; photo by the very kind Pizzi. Click the image to visit her beautiful Photobucket gallery. Thanks, Pizzi!

Remember that very exciting tour news we mentioned last week? Cole Deggs & the Lonesome's MySpace Blog shared the good word earlier; here's the official news release from Lyric Street, chock full of dates and locations. We'll expand this with links and ticket info as soon as possible--for now, make plans to raise the bar and have a fantastic time this fall and winter with Bucky, Jason, Cole and company.

Bucky Covington and Jason Michael Carroll to Co-Headline the Raisin’ the Bar Tour

Tour to Feature Special Guest, Cole Deggs & The Lonesome

Nashville, TN – Country music’s two best-selling new male artists of 2007 team for one exciting concert series with the Raisin’ the Bar tour, starring Bucky Covington and Jason Michael Carroll, with special guest, Cole Deggs & The Lonesome. Beginning October 25 in Corpus Christi, the Raisin’ the Bar tour will span 19 dates from Texas to New York before wrapping December 8 in Baltimore.

Carroll & Covington have indeed been “raising the bar” for new male artists, both emerging with smash singles, chart-topping albums, and a level of success not achieved by other debut country males in years.

Jason Michael Carroll’s Arista Nashville album, Waitin’ in the Country, exploded onto Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart at #1 in its first week and launched back-to-back hits with the Top 5 “Alyssa Lies” and the current “Livin’ Our Love Song.” Written by Carroll, “Alyssa Lies” made music history, entering Billboard’s Digital Song chart with the highest first-week sales of any debut country artist since the inception of the chart. He’s been featured in People, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, Reader’s Digest, and more, and he kicks off the Raisin’ the Bar concert series following a string of dates opening for Brooks & Dunn and Alan Jackson.

Bucky Covington is 2007’s best-selling debut country artist. His self-titled CD opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with not only 2007’s biggest unit debut from a new country artist, but also the best first week sales and highest Top 200 debut for any new male country artist since Billy Ray Cyrus in 1992. His new single “It’s Good To Be Us” has just been delivered to country radio on the heels of the Top 5 success of his first single “A Different World.” In recent months Covington’s national television appearances have included Live with Regis and Kelly, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America and Fox & Friends.

Cole Deggs & The Lonesome are a five-man “band of brothers” whose passion, energy and musicianship, in concert and on disc, are not to be missed. Their self-titled Columbia Nashville debut, released earlier this year, includes their first hit, “I Got More,” and new single, “Girl Next Door.”

Sales numbers are in.....Bucky is still dropping (not as bad as last week though)
drops from 115-132 sales of 5k -8% for a grand total of 266,000

downloads of ADW also drops from 158-197 5k -19% for a total of 165,000

Im crossing my fingers that IG2BU has an impact on those sales. And hopefully Bucky's new tour will help out as well.
Bucky is still pretty steady, It could be alot worse I guess.(He could sell none)

  9. Hi, Marzy! Thanks for the sales figures--and you are likely right about the "new single" effect. I have a feeling that as "It's Good to Be Us" takes off, they'll be bouncing back. (A lot of the more casual music buyers don't pick up a CD until they know they love at least two of the songs on it--I have been guilty of that myself. :)
