Wednesday news: Power Picks, radio days and more...

Click to enjoy more great concert photos by Happydays. Thanks, happy! Click the image to enjoy her Photobucket album of shots from the show. Thanks, Happy! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy, iTunes , WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

It's a quiet Wednesday so far--in fact, the biggest news today is the Power Picks news from yesterday. If you haven't done so already, feel free to hop over to CMT's Power Picks voting page now and put in a good word (or several hundred good words) for Bucky's "A Different World"! The results will be revealed at noon ET, when the winning video starts off today's show...

Bucky's latest hit-on-the-rise, "It's Good to Be Us", is #59 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts--and with only a few days to go until its official September 10th release, now's a good time to think about requests and the joy of cranking Bucky's new tune up to "11" on your car radio. Back when Bucky's first single was released (and we all know how well that turned out!) we compiled an "everything you always wanted to know about requests" blog post; the research and inside information there still applies, but the new twist this time is that Bucky Covington's got his first solid radio hit under his belt. Between that and the hard work and good vibrations that Bucky, Don, Shaun, Hans and Rocky are sharing on the road, your local DJ will be much more receptive this fall. Call with confidence, y'all!

Speaking of Bucky's tour, we've had a few questions about the meet-and-greets listed listed on the tour page at Bucky's official site--those are indeed a perk of fan club membership, and once you've joined, it's perfectly fine to put in a request, even if the tickets for your chosen show are not yet on sale. You'll usually be notified about your meet and greet fairly close to the date of your concert. Sponsoring radio stations may also offer meet-and-greet opportunities as prizes (be sure to stay tuned to your local country station for information about those), and some shows may not have a meet and greet at all. Whether you get to say hi up close and personal, before the show, or you get to cheer from the audience, a Bucky Covington concert is an experience to savor!

We'll be back later today with more news--have a great Wednesday!

  1. Sigh--we clicked all night, but it looks as though Big & Rich had the kickoff spot today. Hang in there! We'll just call this a practice clicking session for later this month, when the video for the new single makes its debut...

  3. Hi! They don't give the percentages with the kick off videos, unfortunately. I like B&R too--and I like to think it was close. ;)
