Monday night news: HOB memories and more...

Bucky Covington glances into the audience during an appearance with Sawyer Brown at the DeKalb Cornfest last week; photo courtesy of the very kind Cindy, who enjoyed the show up close. Thanks, Cindy! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

Best show ever? It's hard to say, when a Bucky Covington concert is the topic--the lucky fans who've seen Bucky, Rocky, Don, Shaun and Hans more than once during this year's tour have had stronger and stronger rave reviews with each passing event. A very satisfied concertgoer at the CMT boards sums up her experience at Sunday night's House of Blues show in Myrtle Beach succinctly: "Man he was goooooooood! I had the best time ever. I have seen him 3 times, House of Blues was the best."

And a couple of blog posts also mention how fine a time was had by all on Sunday night; here's a short, well-written description of the show from an unusual (and interesting) perspective, and another by a happy Bucky fan who enjoyed his duet with Rocky.

There's nothing like being there, of course--but thanks to some very generous fans who were at the House of Blues show, those of us who couldn't make it to Myrtle Beach can join in the fun via photos and video. Buckyroo got some great shots of the happenings before the show, and she shares them in her Photobucket gallery. (She's also posted some beautiful photos and video from the Anderson, SC show last Friday, too.) And Buckwild's fun meet-and-greet shots are sure to raise a smile. Thanks to both kind ladies for the memories!

And there's still more still more exciting video coming in from last week's Cancun Cantina show in Hanover--Lecia captured Bucky's performances of "A Different World" (view online at Brightcove, or click here), "Should've Been a Cowboy" (online/alternate), "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" (online/alternate), "The Bible and the Belt" (online/alternate/YouTube), "It’s Good To Be Us" (online/alternate), "Hometown" (online/alternate) and "I'm Good" (online/alternate). Thanks to Lecia for all her hard work!

Bucky's new single, "It's Good to Be Us", hit a milestone today--it cracked the Top 60 on Mediabase, with about a week to go before its official September 10th release. The ahead-of-schedule chart climb continues today with a #60 notch on the Mediabase weighted chart, and the #59 spot on the Top 500. The most recent word is that a video for the song will be filmed sometime this month--still no news on a director or theme, but there's an interesting mention of a possible plot element in Unknown's must read recap of the Anderson show over at the Fox boards...

Finally, you know you've made it into the inner circle of American popular culture when your hit song becomes a vehicle for karaoke stardom! Buckyflowers sent us a heads-up about an All Star Karaoke CD on Amazonfeaturing a "not by the original artist" version of "A Different World". That's right--very soon, aspiring Bucky Convingtons will be hitting your local karaoke night to put their very own spin on Bucky's big debut hit. (If you'll be one of them, please put your cover version on YouTube--we'd love to see it! In the meantime, we can all enjoy this guy a little while longer...)

Thanks for putting up with my terrible tech problems today--this is going to be a "Monday" post by mere minutes. I'll see you again in the morning...have a great night!--Winnie
