Sunday news: Cancun Cantina memories, a Cornfest update, Crook and Chase today and more...

Two great shots, one awesome night! Bucky Covington wields a mean guitar onstage at the Cancun Cantina in Hanover in this photo by Aikenseeker, then carefully signs an autograph for a fan in a great image by Kareninmd (scroll down). You can browse Kareninmd's beautiful collection of concert photos--and a couple of excellent videos, too!--from the Hanover show right here. Thanks so much to both kind photographers for capturing an electrifying evening! Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy, iTunes , WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

Here's a beautiful way to get Sunday off to a rockin' start--kareninmd was there for Bucky Covington's wild and wonderful show at the Cancun Cantina in Hanover on Friday, and she very kindly shares her photos (and two video clips) in this great Photobucket album. Huge thanks to kareninmd for letting us enjoy a bit of the fun!

And here's an update from the official DeKalb Cornfest site about today's activities--the area has been hit hard with flooding this week, but it sounds like today's show will happen as scheduled:

Corn Fest activities will continue on Saturday, August 25, 2007 and Sunday, August 26, 2007.

**Please note the following changes:

Auto Fest is being relocated to 3rd Street downtown DeKalb. The Bike Rally and 10K Run/3K Walk and Diaper Derby/Toddler Trot have been cancelled due to course flooding. The Historical Tours have been cancelled. For more information, please call the Corn Fest hotline at 815-748-2676 (CORN).

If you're traveling a long way to DeKalb for the show, it's probably best to call that hotline before you head out. Below are the details about today's concert:

And Bucky's part of today's Crook & Chase Country Countdown, too--there's a funny soundbite in which he tells a story that "not even his parents know" (guess they do now!) about what happened when he and Rocky went out for a not-quite- authorized drive as teenagers. If your local station doesn't carry Crook & Chase, click here for a list of stations via Radiotime. All times shown are Central--be sure to adjust for your area. I haven't heard this yet , but a kind anonymous commenter has, and she mentioned that Bucky's tale comes just before "A Different World" is played. (He's #6 on their countdown this week.) Thanks, Anon! Sounds like it'll be worth waiting for...

Finally, we'll do a quick sweep of the charts, where Bucky's got a big hit and a future hit decorating the page. "A Different World" is currently #15 on the weighted chart and #16 on the Top 500; and Bucky's September single, "It's Good to Be Us", is already showing some pre-release starpower with at #82 on the weighted chart and #92 on the Top 500. Since the song is not officially released yet and much of the airtime is coming from songfights and challenges, the Mediabase watch for "It's Good to Be Us" is more of a fun diversion at this point--but hang on tight, y'all. The serious chart watching will begin soon enough! For now, though, if your station is playing Bucky's new song, feel free to call and let them know you enjoyed it...

More very soon!--Winnie

Love the new redesigned site and updated tag line. It is good to be us! I bet you are counting the days to the Cleveland concert. Work and other commitments made me pass on the trip to Hanover but at least I get to live vicariously through some great pictures and videos. Especially love "Horny Bucky". Hope you are having a great Sunday.

  6. Hello Anons and Beesims!

Great news on the Amazon charts--thanks so much, Anon! And does anyone else feel a little wistful about Bucky's first hit going recurrent? A job well done--he really made his first foray into the chart fray count. Thanks also for the chart info--looking good! I added it to the evening update.

Beesims, hi and thanks--I think we'll all end up with that phrase on T-shirts, engraved on bracelets, tattooed on our ankles, or something (hee) before the year is out, It's so true, and it's a pretty positive sentiment to take into fall. I wish you could have been at the Hanover show--crossing my fingers that there's another one on the horizon for you soon.

And you're absolutely right...I am so excited about finally getting to see and hear Bucky with the whole band! March and the Opry seem like a million years ago...it's been way too long. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
