Saturday news: new concert dates at BuckyCovington.com

Bucky Covington shares a smile with the audience during last month's WSOC listener cruise; photo by the very kind Happydays. Be sure to check out her beautiful concert gallery at Photobucket. Thanks again, Happydays! Bucky's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

Didn't get a chance to hear Bucky Covington live and in concert earlier this summer? Never fear--it sure looks like his autumn is going to be jam-packed, too. A lot of new live dates have just been added to the tour page at BuckyCovington.com--hurry over there now to see how close he'll be to you, and get ready for some hot musical times as the weather cools down!

Of course, if you're in the Gray, TN area, you don't have to wait at all--Bucky and the band are set to rock your town tonight. Here are the details:

Be sure to stop in at our August Concert Roundup page for links and info on the rest of this month's shows; we're busy adding the new dates to September's Roundup, so stay tuned...

And stay tuned to your local country radio station, too! A few more stations have given Bucky's new tune some well-in-advance airtime--always a good sign. "It's Good to Be Us" might be gracing your speakers before its official release date next month; the kind folks at the BuckyCovingtonFans MySpace have a great list going at their blog, with lots more details about where to listen and who to thank. (This post is a little early for the morning Mediabase listings, but it's a safe bet that Bucky's debut smash is still in the Top 20 on both the weighted and the Top 500 charts today.)

We'll close for now with some fun memories of Bucky's recent Dayton show; Cindy Wright captured the Mountain Days concert in words (and a couple of great images, too!) and she graciously shared them at Associated Content this week.

More later today...we're hoping that "more" will include some great stuff from the Cancun Cantina and Mountain Lakes Ampitheatre shows. Have a lovely Saturday--see you soon!

IG2BU was being played yesterday. It was showing up on YES. Well all those stations that were playing it (The song had rankings on these stations) are not today. IG2BU has not been played at all today. We need to request IG2BU on those stations that are listed on BCFans myspace blog. Come on lets give it a little boost.

PS..im only saying request on stations that have already played it.

  3. Hello, Anon and Mumbler--good to see you both! :)

Anon, no worries about the Yes stats--that's pretty normal. Right now, the songfights and "pick or flick" features account for most of the airplay "It's Good to Be Us" has enjoyed so far, and most stations do those features on weeknights. The syndicated shows rule the airwaves in much of the country on Saturdays, and those programs are still (happily!) playing "A Different World" at the moment.

Since the new song is technically in pre-release, we're a bit limited in how effective we can be--calling up your local station to give them positive feedback once they've played the song is always appropriate and welcome. If your station's played it already, feel free to request (lightly--not street team style!) but consider it more of a suggestion and show of interest than a true "jukebox" style request, since some DJs can't play the song in the regular rotation yet, even if they'd like to. Some have corporate decision makers and consultants determining what gets added when, and their hands are tied.

So...I wouldn't worry too much about what's happening at Yes or Mediabase at this stage of the game. Watching them is more of a fun pre-release hobby right now. There will be surges and lulls on both for a while until the song is officially added at a lot of stations at once--then the real chart watch begins...

And hi there Mumbler--thanks for your kind words about the new layout! It was long overdue. :) I really like that particular shot also--hope Lyric Street will get him back in the photo studio with Kristen Barlowe for some new portraits very soon. And yep...great to be us, for sure!
