Quick Friday news: Balloon Fest, new concert videos, rave reviews and more...(updated)

By request, Bucky Covington rockin' out with the wind at his recent Indiana State Fair show; click here to enjoy a lovely Flickr photoset of concert photos by the very kind Buckybaby01. (Thanks again, Buckybaby!)
Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

The month (and the summer) may be ending, but there's still plenty of heat to be enjoyed on concert stages all across the country. Bucky, Rocky, Don, Shaun and Hans hit Freebird Live in Jacksonville last night--we're guessing that was a wild one!--and this evening, they wrap up August in a picturesque fashion with a performance at the Great Southeast BalloonFest in Anderson, South Carolina. This show will be covered by a conference call tonight--I'll be out this evening, but I'll try to get as much info on the call as I can for you before I go. Fan club members will have up to the minute details on the Road subforum at Bucky's official site. Thanks in advance to the very generous Hildi and her helpers for making the call possible!

And for a fun look at a past show, here's a quick but sweet recap of Bucky's recent Hickory, North Carolina concert by a kind fan at the CMT boards--looks like he won over yet another new devoted listener! Another talented audience member just posted some brand new videos from Bucky's Cancun Cantina show in Hanover last weekend--check out YouTube clips of "A Different World", "Should've Been a Cowboy", "I'm Good", "Hometown" and "It's Good to Be Us".

The latter song is Bucky's new single, of course, and it's climbing the charts quite gracefully in these last few days before its official release. We're a bit early for the Friday a.m. listings, but "It's Good to Be Us" ended Thursday at #67 on the Mediabase weighted chart and #70 on the Top 500. (Bucky might have gotten a bit of a boost by the time you read this...)

Click image to hear Bucky Covington's music at his official MySpace.Updated: the song moved up to #67 with a bullet on both charts this morning-- Bucky's lookin' good! And as ogopogo very kindly pointed out in comments, he's also poised for a beautiful autumn on radio, with a strong showing on the Jump! chart at Mediabase. Stations are cheerfully playing and adding "It's Good to Be Us" ahead of schedule; when you hear it on your local country station, be sure to give them a call and tell them you'd like to hear it more often. (For those who love streaming radio, a stop at WKML.com is in order, too; Bucky's new tune is doing very well on their "Top 5 At 6", and out-of-town listeners are welcome. You can have a say in this one...request Bucky at country@wkml.com, and tune in tonight to see how he does!)

And another bit of good news cones from our friend Marzy today---she reports that at USA Today's "Idol Chatter" blog, Bucky moved up two spots to take #6 in the Season 5 Revisionist Idol poll. Growing popularity post-Idol is an excellent sign for a rising country star...he is gathering new fans and gaining respect from those who saw him when he first hit the national spotlight. And CD-buying country fans would seem to agree--Bucky moves into September with his debut album, Bucky Covington, still in the Top Twenty on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, where it takes the #19 position this week.

See you a little later--enjoy your Friday!
