First look at Wednesday: Power Picks, and a bit of online video delight...(updated)

Thanks, Sunny! Bucky Covington chats with the audience during his show at the Rodeo Club in San Jose, CA earlier this month; click here to enjoy a beautiful Yahoo photo gallery by the very kind Sunny, who was there for the concert. (Thanks again, Sunny!) Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes, WalMart Music and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

Bucky's video for "A Different World" will face a head-to-head challenge on
CMT's Power Picks, which begins at 12 noon ET; click here to go directly to the Power Picks main page. Bucky's matchup (against a very familiar challenger) will happen during the first half of the show, so at noon, hit the "Vote Now" button, keep that voting window open and get ready to mouse-click away. (Edited at 12:12--Bucky won over Blake Shelton, with 51% of the vote. Congratulations!)

It's Wednesday--why not enjoy some brand new fan video? Lisa/letusjudge of Buck Wild fame was there for Bucky's concert in Zellwood earlier this summer, and she's sharing her fantastic videos at GoFish this morning. Enjoy Bucky, Don, Shaun, Hans and Rocky under the bright Florida sun as they rock a delighted audience. Major thanks to Lisa for posting these fun memories of a great show! Be sure to check out her beautiful fan site, Buck Wild, for great photos, information, graphics and more. (Edited to add a thanks from Lisa and from all of us to dbrosch for her excellent tech help. Lisa also kindly shared a link in comments to a full Bucky Covington channel at GoFish for your video perusing pleasure...)

And here's a bit of vintage video you might have missed, via AOL--Bucky didn't get as much camera time as we would have liked during his visit to the American Idol set in April, but he, Martina McBride, and a couple of surprise guests were interviewed backstage after the Country Night results show. Bucky's take on Sanjaya Malakar's prospects (and his sweet almost-off-mic plug for his friend Kellie Pickler) are an interesting blast from the recent past.

In present-day chart news, you've gotta give "A Different World" a world of respect--even with established superstars bouncing around the chart, Bucky's beautiful debut single is hanging tough at #14 on the Mediabase weighted chart and #15 on the Top 500 listing as of the morning listings. (And it just started up on WGAR as I'm typing this--love when that happens!) Keep requesting Bucky at your favorite local and streaming country stations, and remember that those local "Top X at X" and nationally syndicated Saturday night country radio shows deserve a shout out, too. CMT's Top 20 Countdown, and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown are looking for a little attention as well--be sure to give Bucky a boost on both countdowns today.

And on the road, the rest of Bucky's week is looking exceedingly busy--so busy that even the Grand Rapids Press made a note of his participation in both of the area's big country festivals this weekend. Michigan fans can catch him at the B93 Birthday Bash at the Ionia Free Fairgrounds on Saturday afternoon (he's set to take the stage at about 4:30; listen to B93 for ticket info) and at the Mountain Country Music Festival in Farwell on Sunday. If you'd like to keep up with his jam-packed schedule, bookmark Bucky's official tour page and hang on tight...

Finally, a bit of bonus photo goodness for fans of Bucky's labelmate Trent Tomlinson; Trent's 99.5 The Wolf Listener Appreciation Concert at the Wildhorse Saloon was beautifully photographed by Aaron Crisler of Music City Update, and you can check out the full gallery here. (It's a safe guess that a Wolf show at the Wildhorse could be in Bucky's future soon...) And Sunscreen's been busy over at the Bucky Truck Stop at Rawkhands--stop in and enjoy the latest updates.

Coming up tomorrow: the new Billboard Top Country Albums and Radio & Records/BDS Country Singles charts, and a concert with Sawyer Brown at the Country USA Music Festival in Oshkosh. I'll see you a little later...enjoy your Wednesday!

I have added about 6 videos from Zellwood so far. Thanks to Deb for converting the files that made it possible to add to my go fish account. We will have more later from West Palm beach, where he gives a "holla" out to the fan club.

  2. Lisa, a big thanks to you for the great videos, and to Deb for the tech help--you've shared a real treat for those of us who haven't yet had a chance to go to a summer tour stop. (I'm looking forward to the WPB footage, too. :)

"After the big two,[Chris D.& Carrie] we slide down to No. 57 on the chart, occupied by Bucky, who was No. 63 last week. His sales jumped 24% to 14,000, and his total is 177,000."

  9. Hi, Carol and Buckyflowers! Carol, I think the nominations for the CMAs will be announced in August (I'll check to make sure), but the timing is great--sure would be a fun pre-birthday present if he's among those honored. And Buckyflowers, what great news! I'm working on a post now--that's someting that should be shared right away. Thanks! :)
