Thursday news: Billboard beauty, Fresno frenzy, changing times and more...(updated)

Thanks again, Pizzi! Bucky Covington, up close and personal during a concert earlier this month at Hershey Park; click here to enjoy a beautiful gallery of concert photos by our friend Pizzi. Bucky Covington's debut CD is in stores now, and his music video is available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can buy Bucky's album at Amazon, Best Buy , iTunes and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT and GAC, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be ordered while supplies last at his official site or via his official fan club.

Tonight, Bucky, Rocky, Shaun, Hans and Don perform at Fresno's Woodward Park for the first of KSKS' Summer Concert Series shows--Neal Mc Coy headlines, and Jerrod Neiman is also on the bill. It should be a fantastic evening of music and fun! As of now, the only way to get into the show is to win tickets from KSKS--click here for the details, listen all day for the latest, and I hope you're able to enjoy Bucky under the stars tonight...

(Bucky's making a few more stops in California before heading back to Nashville and the CMA Fest; bookmark the tour schedule at his official site for updated concert news.)

Today's charts look lovely--Bucky's "A Different World" is holding steady at #15 on the Mediabase Top 500 and weighted charts this morning, and it's moved up a notch to #17 on this week's Radio & Records/BDS ranking. The smile-inspiring news is at Billboard's Top Country Albums chart today, where Bucky Covington has moved up a spot this week to #11. (You and I both know a return to the Top Ten is imminent--especially with that fun GMA appearance on the horizon. Congratulations, Bucky!)

And of course, request "A Different World" at your favorite local and streaming country stations to keep things moving in that very positive direction. While you're here, give Bucky and his video for the song some love at the GAC Top Twenty ballot today, too. CMT's Pure 12-Pack voting is done for the week, but a new round begins tomorrow, so be on the lookout. And definitely be on the lookout for today's CMT Top 20 Countdown (showtimes here).

While we're talkin' CMT, here's a heads-up for tomorrow's Power Picks--Bucky's video will be featured in a matchup during Friday's program. Tune in tomorrow at 12 noon ET and get ready to mouse-click for a win! We'll post a reminder the morning of the show...

Edited to add a fun fact from a kind reader who emailed us earlier today--Bucky is actually holding seven spaces on the Mediabase Top 500 this morning! Here's the rundown:

  • #15: "A Different World"
  • #83: "I'll Walk"
  • #85: "Bible and the Belt"
  • #190: "I'm Good"
  • #230: "American Friday Night"
  • #320: "It's Good to Be Us"
  • #345: "Back When We Were Gods"
"He is the only new artist to do this for 2007," she adds. Hey, when we say this CD is packed full of potential hits, we mean it... (Thanks to Ann for the good news!)

It looks as though there are changes in store at Bucky's official forums (registration required), where the Bucky Nation subforum--which was started for the CD launch blitz and has morphed into a resource for detailed support and request info--will be closing June 8th, with the key information threads headed to other areas of the forum. (There are more changes being discussed at the official forums, too; unfortunately, my tech limitations only allow me to sign in there when the moon and stars are in proper alignment. I'll try to keep you posted on the latest happenings at BuckyCovington.com as best I can, and if you have news about the site, please feel free to post it in comments...)

Finally, I hope Lisa/judge doesn't mind my linking to her short but gorgeous Picture Trail album of shots from the Zellwood show--honestly, who could resist? Lovely photos, all--thanks for posting them, Lisa! You can see more of her beautiful graphics, and enjoy one-stop voting links, background info on Bucky and lots of other goodies--at her Buck Wild site. (Updated to give Lisa mega-thanks for links to two more of her galleries: click here to view more great shots from the Zellwood show, and here for her photos from West Palm Beach. Enjoy!)

Have a terrific Thursday--see you later!
