Just a very quick reminder for Bucky's satellite radio fans--XM's Highway 16 presents "Traffic Report", an all request show, at 2 p.m. ET today. If you're a subscriber (or if you're enjoying XM's generous free trial offer), check out the Contact Us section on the channel's home page, and let them know you'd love to hear "Different World" this afternoon. (Always keep the Number One Rule of radio requesting in mind--only make requests at stations you can actually listen to. Not yet an XM subscriber? Consider signing up for that free trial, or keep reading--there are plenty of Number One Rule-friendly ways to help out today.)
Good news for FM radio listeners in Wichita, Mobile and Omaha--according to Mediabase, Bucky's single is getting some airplay on your local country stations! (Those new spins move the song up on the chart there, from 89 yesterday to 81 this morning.)
And of course, tonight is "Beyond the Buzz" night at Sirius New Country 60--your chance to tell the world (via satellite) how much you're enjoying hearing Bucky on the radio. Tune in at 9 p.m. ET and keep the listener line number (877-33-SIRIUS) handy. It's fun to hear the call-in comments--we're hoping a Bucky Covington fan gets a little airtime tonight...
Last but definitely not least, kudos to the folks at WKML 95.7 in Fayetteville for fan-friendliness and all-around fun. Bucky's grandmother phoned in and requested "Different World" yesterday; both the song and her sweet call were a part of the afternoon show. And another kind local fan left a note in the Chatbox that I somehow managed to miss posting--my4frogs reports that Kebo at Rockingham's WLWL-AM played Bucky's single off and on during the day on 1/3. (My apologies to my4frogs--thanks for letting us know about the hometown news!)
There's a new section of radio-related links in our sidebar; look for the red "Radio Info" heading at the left of the page, and enjoy watching, listening, and (via requests) contributing to Bucky's progress on the air...
More coming soon--have a beautiful Saturday!
(Edited to add a nice tidbit from a kind anon in the comments section; apparently, John Boy and Billy of "Big Show" fame had good words for Bucky's single on their nationally-syndicated radio show. Lookin' good! More later...)
John Boy and Billy were talking up a certain tall skinny blond coutry singer on their show this morning. :D (If you do not know them, well they are syndicated morning show hosts that go out on about a 100 or so rock and country radio stations around the country daily.) They both love "Different World!"
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful news; I hope you don't mind my posting that right out front! :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteargh we get them here but I missed it. I am listening to the Sirius New Country top 30 right now. Won;t it be great if it gets there at some point?? They just played that darned Joe Nichols song that makes me cry lol
ReplyDeleteOh, that Joe Nichols song is a tearjerker! Goodness.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have a feeling that before long, Bucky will indeed be on the Sirius New Country Top 30 Countdown. "Different World" really has a catchy melody. We won't be the only ones to hum it to ourselves during the days and weeks ahead.
(It's been running through my mind all morning, and I bet I'm not alone! :)
I get the when we were boys and girls line stuck in my head lol
ReplyDeleteZach is still stuck on Kellie's you want to want to lol But at least he does call her Bucky's kelly lol so that's something. He is going to be so confused when Idol comes on this season ans Bucky isn't there lol
Awww! Well, at least he'll have the tapes of Bucky and Kellie to watch if he gets really sentimental. :) That is too cute, though--hey, "Red High Heels" is majorly catchy, as well!
ReplyDeleteIf you want to hear Bucky's single go here now!

The DJ just listed him along with some other artists that he will play in the next block.
Oh wow, I love John Boy & Billy. They play them on the classic rock station here in Knoxville.
ReplyDeleteIs that Top 5 @ 6 show only weekdays?
ReplyDeleteI think so yeah.
