Buzzing around...

It's about that time! Head over to Sirius New Country Channel 60 for two hours of new and noteworthy songs on "Beyond the Buzz", from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern. Will Bucky Covington's "Different World" be part of tonight's fare? We're hoping so--and if you hear him this evening, be sure to give the listener line a call at 877-33-SIRIUS and let them know you'd like to hear more...

(My ancient PC won't let me listen in tonight, but I'll be with you in spirit. Please leave a note in comments and let us all know when you heard Bucky and who, if anyone, got on the air to give Sirius feedback! Thanks--Winnie.)

Edited to add a note from Bren (thanks!): "They just played it against KC's 'Beer In Mexico' and the 5 calls that came after the songs were played were all for Bucky. Daisy from AZ, Carol from NY, Debbie from PA, Colin from OH and some guy driving on I-95 were the lucky callers tonite." Congratulations to everyone who got on the air, and to Bucky--sounds like he made a great impression!)

They just played it against KC's "Beer In Mexico" and the 5 calls that came after the songs were played were all for Bucky. Daisy for AZ, Carol from NY, Debbie from PA, Colin from OH and some guy driving on I-95 were the lucky callers tonite. Tonite was also the first night that our family got to hear it completely through. The lil votin machines were singing right along!

Damn, I missed my own comment from last week since my 3 day subscription is over. Well it's good that people know Bucky has fans in New York too.

  7. I heard you Carol! The DJ said "either Bucky Covington's whole family just called in or people just think Kenny is a given." lol

Okay saying you do not like Kellie's song is fine but that one guy is an idiot.

But love how the other call for Kellie's song ended up making it mostly about Bucky. hahaha

  16. yay they said Bucky will be # 1!!!

Yes I don't care if he doesn't like Kellie's song but what was that guy babbling about? lol he kinda missed the point of the song.

The big irony about the jerk complaining in such a crass manner about the subject matter of Kellie's song is that he is surely one of the types of problematic men she sings about...the cool guys understand the need for women to sometimes vent musically about the uncool ones. hahaha

As for the other other idiot....the guy from TX slamming the Dixie Chicks...I do not know what country he is from because in the USA we have something call free speech.

Geez...I am so glad all the Bucky call-ins were sweet and so pro-Bucky! :D

  19. They said Bucky's song will be a #1?

    *blinks eyes*

    Wow!

I can't hear the comments on Kellie's song, but I've heard the somng before--it's a hoot and she is a funny girl. Too bad the caller didn't share the songwriter's sense of humor!

Sierra even recorded it on the DVR and now we have it! She has played it 5 times already tonite. They heard it live in Roanoke Rapids and loved it then and now being on the radio they are singin right along. At Sierra's school she has met some Bucky fans and asked me for the links to sites about him and she reminded them before they left school yesterday to listen to 60 tonite.

  21. Sierra must be a very loyal Bucky fan--major kudos to the lil' votin' machines for all their dedication and hard work! I hope her friends all loved "Different World", too... :)

Forget about Keith Urban singing...I just want to hear him talk. LOL I love his accent! haha

But speaking of cute men with cute accents...I hope when "Different World" graduates to the regular rotation they track Bucky down for one of those recorded introductions there play before the songs. That would be so cool! -sunscreen

Does anyone know how long a single usually is on the Beyond the Buzz level before moving up to being a buzz cut?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ahhhhhhhhh well its still going # 1 ~

    ReplyDelete
  27. I second that wish for a recorded intro by Bucky! And from Hildi's lips to heaven's ears, as far as that #1 goes...

I'm really not sure how long (or how many positive calls) it takes to get a song from "Beyond the Buzz" to Buzz Cut status--but I'll try to find out. Hope there's a longtime Sirius subscriber lurking who has more info...

Chris Youngs Beer or Gasoline was on Beyond the buzz this week and last week as well and hasn't made it to buzz cut status either. Just an observation lol

  30. Thanks, Debbie! Hmmmm...so I guess it does take a little while for songs to "graduate"? It'll be worth the wait--having said that, here's hoping Bucky's "Different World" gets more Sirius airtime soon... :)

  31. And hello to Anon...thank you for the Mediabase update. Looks like the song's moving up steadily!
