Bucky Covington will be part of GAC's "Sound and Speed 2007" event this weekend, January 12th and 13th, in Nashville as one of the celebrities in the Backstage Garage Pass Autograph Sessions. From the site:
NASCAR's top drivers and country's brightest stars come together for the 2007 Sprint Sound & Speed event, presented by SunTrust, January 12 and 13 in downtown Nashville. Legends Cale Yarborough, 83-year-old Junie Donlavey and Richard Childress (owner, Childress Racing) along with Jamie McMurray, Bobby Hamilton, Jr., David Stremme and Aric Almirola join previously announced Richard Petty, Kyle Petty, Michael Waltrip and Ryan Newman as the featured drivers fans can interact with.
The lineup of country stars includes Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina, Josh Turner, Aaron Tippin, Ray Stevens, Niki Taylor and more .
Sounds like an awesome time--visit the official Sound and Speed website for details, or click here to purchase tickets online. (And if you're going, please come back and tell us all about it...)
In other news, tonight's Rochester WBEE-FM "Test Track" challenge was the first of what will no doubt be many victories for Bucky's new single, "A Different World"--it was retired tonight as an undefeated champion after five straight wins in the station's online/phone polls. Congratulations! (Those in the San Jose, CA area who'd like to give Bucky a vote of confidence are in luck--there's still time to get in on the KRTY.com "Tuesday Night Song Meeting" survey. Bucky's single is one of five that were played for the current poll.)
And a reminder about that possible WKKT 96.9 Charlotte radio interview tomorrow morning at 8:45--I'll be here, and if my hopelessly outdated PC doesn't blow a fuse, I'll attempt a play-by-play bright and early. Bucky's radio interviews are always a joy--the station streams online, so tune in and get ready to smile...More soon--have a great night!
Cool that he will be at this event....but...why oh why do they have that ancient photo? hahaha
ReplyDeleteI know! Sigh...someday the new portrait will finally reach all the media folk...
ReplyDeleteWow the Bucky news just keeps coming in fast and furious. You and Kathy have become the breathless bloggers! Every hour there is some new tidbit to report. What a welcome change from the "crickets chirping" posts between the end of the Idol tour and the start of the GAC tour.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes it's time to put that old Idol photo with the icky mustache out to pasture.
I sent the sound and speed web site the new promo photo. Hope they burn that old photo. Bucky is so much more polished now! Feel free to send them one also.
ReplyDeleteCarol, it's like night and day! Bucky's been so busy that it's hard to get all the news posted in a timely fashion.
ReplyDeleteIt's been exciting--and frantic. And I love it!
Bunny, good move--I hope they'll update their files immediately!
ReplyDeleteWinnie, it looks like Bucky won't be performing at Sound n Speed, just there signing autographs etc. Somewhere on the website I guess it says that. so maybe put a disclaimer that he may or may not perform but will be there lol
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie! The link to the autograph session page is in the most recent post--I'll add that to this one, too, Blogger.com permitting. Looks like Bucky and Aaron Benward from Blue County will both be there--wonder if Aaron will "steal" Bucky's hair again? :)
