96.9 The Kat this morning...

We're listening to Charlotte's 96.9 WKKT--so far, no mention of an interview with Bucky, but I'm standing by with a cup of coffee and the blogging page open. (If you hear of any news or updates, please feel free to point me in the right direction in comments.)

(8: 50: I'm having streaming problems, but I'm on at the moment--Bucky was just introduced and he spoke a little about the nostalgic lyrics of his new single and how he could relate to some of it--and his family could relate to much of the rest. "Different World" is now playing. The station's taking calls about the song--and Kathy from Team Covington was just on to give Bucky some kudos!)

Bucky spoke of being home for the holidays--"had a really good time." When the DJ mentioned that the song was so good it was causing people to drive off the road in Rockingham and asked for the name of a good body shop, Bucky didn't hesitate to give the family business a plug. "The old painter's not there any more, but I hear the new guy is very good."

"What's the biggest misconception the folks back home in Rockingham might have? That you're dating a starlet? That you have pockets full of money?" the DJs asked. "That I have pockets full of money," was Bucky's answer, given with a laugh. The DJ wrapped up the interview by expressing confidence that that wouldn't be a misconception for long...

News post next--come on back!

  15. Marzy and ss, I admire your dedication. All the Mountain and Pacific-time fans should get a free podcast version of these interviews automatically sent to their mailboxes...

And Kathy, you didn't sound weird from here at all...you sounded terrific and the DJs seemed impressed that online listeners are calling in. Glad they know the song's a hit all over! :)

  17. Hi, Pizzi!

Didn't see any information about TV coverage for Speed and Sound as yet, but GAC and/or Speed Channel are probably good guesses. I do hope there's some video coming, because it really sounds like a fun weekend! If I find out anything, I'll pass it along for sure.
