Hot Shot Debut (and a concert date, too)

Bucky Covington's "A Different World" is the Hot Shot Debut on the Country National Airplay chart at Radio & Records today. (Gotta love those big red letters atop the #57 spot...)

And a kind fan at the Fox boards has posted that Bucky will be appearing at the B-93 Birthday Bash concert in Michigan this coming June--here's the listing at the station's site (thanks, Blu!) This is a huge, festival style show, and it sounds like a lot of fun!

Finally, this morning's WDRM interview is already posted at the station's site--here's a link to their podcast page, where you'll find the audio in two parts. (That was quick--thanks, Dan and Dingo!)

Looks like it's going to be another busy news day--but there's always time to squeeze in an email to WKML at country@wkml.com to request Bucky for tonight's "Top 5 at 6".

Edited to add a milestone link from comments (thanks, Anon)--Bucky's impressive chart debut makes him the top story in Fred Bronson's Chart Beat column at Billboard today. There's an interesting look at the overall chart history of Idol alumni, as well. (Unfortunately, there's also an ancient Fox-issued Idol finalist photo topping the page--I am swapping the one that was originally here for the current Bucky Covington press photo, just to balance things out.)

More in a moment!

LOL LOL LOL I just listened to the interview from this morning to hear the bit we missed because station lost its streaming for a couple minutes...almost all of what did not air online was Bucky going on and on about golf in a funny way. Said he hit himself in the jaw one time he was so out of control. Said that his brother sucks at it. hahaha And something about you like to play with good people to raise your game instead of the opposite. LOL LOL Bucky must be pretty good but an emotional golfer. Talked about Mark and him golfing to. All very very funny.

Fab little feature on the Bucky but again with the ancient photo?

  7. People think of golf as a serene game--oh, man. Sometimes it's anything but!

And thanks for the Billboard link, Anon--I'll add that to the page, but yes, good question. We fans have had that picture since before Christmas, so why are the press folk using the old ones?
