Another blast from the past--hoping for new photos real soon! Chris Daughtry and Bucky Covington congratulate each other as Bucky makes the Top 12, March 2006
We're still "enjoying" (is that the word?) a news-free, pre-holiday lull, but there are plenty of online Thanksgiving greetings being shared by Bucky's family, fans and friends at the Fox boards. (This old PC won't let me post it there, so I'll say it here--Happy Thanksgiving, y'all.)
Bucky's enjoying a happy hometown holiday, no doubt--and it's a wonderful thing when the hometown you're headed for loves you right back. The original newspaper story is long-offline now, but click here to enjoy an excerpt from a Laurinburg, NC Exchange article that our friend Willa found back in April during Bucky's Idol run. (Looks like there's plenty of local love and affection to be thankful for, too...)
And if you've been following the photo contest at Rocky's official site, you'll be pleased to know there's a winner. (Go on, click that link--I guarantee you'll want to smile right back.) Congratulations, Tammy--great shot!
Bucky's friend Kellie Pickler answered 20 questions for CMT this week--guess who her guitar teacher was during the long Idol summer tour? She says it didn't go so well, but kudos to Bucky for sharing his expertise, and who knows? Kellie hasn't ruled out learning how to play; eventually, she might be strumming along to her own songs...
Be sure to check out the new Daughtry CD, too--besides the excellent music, there's a fun thank you to Ace, Ryan and Bucky in the liner notes. (We still think a recorded Bucky-and-Chris duet would be awesome...we know it'll probably never happen, but we'll always have "Tobacco Road" among many other great memories.)
If any exciting news pops up, we'll be back later on this evening. Have a joyful day-before-turkey-and-football day!
