This beautiful vintage-style image is the twelfth entry in our "Bucky Covington CD Cover Un-Contest". (Blogger's margins don't do this lovely graphic justice; please be sure to click this great cover to get the full, large-scale view.) Beesims enhances lfesvr's classic concert portrait of Bucky with a sepia-tone effect and traditional fonts in soft yellow, to give it an almost historical-photo effect. The soft-edged round frame around the image adds to the timeless feel, and the clever uses of small spots of color--Bucky's blue eyes and the purple lights of the Jumbotron--make for a subtle image with a lot of impact. (We love that title, too. He may be headed for Nashville, but Bucky sure brings a bit of Rockingham's spirit everywhere he goes.) Thanks, beesims!

Just a quick sweep to get the day going:

Over at the planning thread for Bucky and Rocky's October 13th appearance at Hugo's (pack the house, y'all!) the most recent posts suggest it's a safe bet that the Richmond County Daily Journal will be covering the festivities. We have the paper linked on our sidebar--you'll definitely want to drop in there over the weekend, as well as checking out the Greensboro News and Record for news about the Erin's Victory Dance benefit on the 14th.

Speaking of Rockingham, there's a bit of Memory Lane assistance for those who'd like to be there this weekend, as well as for those who are lucky enough to be headed that way in a few days. There are beautiful Bucky Bash photos still available at Flickr, as well as a whole gallery of shots from the Bash, the performances and the Carolina Grill get-together at Bucky-Covington.net. More great Rockingham photos can be found at the beautifully-done RockyCovington.com photo galleries, and BuckyCountry.com has tons of truly gorgeous Bash shots, too. Finally, don't forget the sharp professional portraits of Bucky in Rockingham and on stage during the Idol tour at ForeverYoursFoto.com. (We're sure we're missing a lot of great sources of hometown photos of the Covington brothers, and we didn't mean to leave anyone out--if you have a link you'd like to share, please feel free to leave it in comments or in the Chatbox, and I'll update as soon as possible...)

Finally, over at MJ's Big Blog, they're discussing Bucky's friend Elliott Yamin's awesome appearance at the Virginia State Fair last night. (LMBO backed him yesterday, and by all reports the place was rockin' and the show was off the hook.) You can catch up on the latest recaps and links in the comments section there. Congratulations to Elliott on his first-ever solo concert!

More soon...
