Quick news: Bucky Covington with Kelli & Roadkill Bill (podcast interview) and more...

Another awesome song from Bucky Covington's new album, Good Guys--gotta love this one!  Bucky and his band performed this rousing version of "Mama Must Be Prayin'" in Muskegon, MI--thanks to Moya for sharing the fun.  Be sure to enjoy a live show this fall! Bucky's concert schedule is available at his official site.

Bucky Covington graced two different radio station morning shows today--he was the guest on Wizard 106's Kelli & Roadkill Bill morning show, and you can listen to the two part podcast right here. He also had a chat with WWMS/MISS 98's Scott Spencer--no podcast so far, but we'll keep an ear out...

The morning show visits were in honor of Bucky's upcoming show at the Tallahatchie RiverFest in New Albany, MS--you'll want to be there this Saturday night for the party!  And on Sunday afternoon, enjoy an acoustic set by Bucky at Cousler Park in Manchester Township, PA, where he, the Manchester Township career firefighters, Help The Good Guys and Kayla Kroh will join forces to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  It's free, but you'll want to bring a donation for the firefighter's boots.  Check out the details (including information on how you can win a signed guitar) at the event's Facebook page, and have fun!

Speaking of concert updates, here's one straight from Bucky's Facebook:

It has come to our attention that Bucky is being advertised for a show Sept 29th at Montgomery Steakhouse in Spiceland, IN. Bucky is not scheduled to perform there even though they are utilizing his name as a part of the show. We wanted t
o be sure all the fans were aware of this and that you did not purchase tickets to see Bucky at this event. Please visit www.buckycovington.com for the latest tour schedule and updates on Bucky Covington.

Thanks!

We'll close with our nightly reminders:  vote for Bucky, Shooter Jennings and "Drinking Side of Country" at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, CMT Pure's Pure 12 Pack and CMT's Top 20 Countdown, and pick up Bucky's long-awaited second album now at Amazon, iTunes,  Bucky's official site, and at the HelpTheGoodGuys.com store.  See you very soon!

A Young & Elder podcast, and a glimpse of Bucky Covington's show at the Woodwinds...

Bucky Covington on stage in Indianapolis; thanks again to photographer Judy Lang for her kindness.

Yesterday's brief-but-funny Bucky Covington radio interview has now been posted on Young & Elder's Facebook audio page, and via their Kix Jocks page at Kix 106--enjoy! They've also posted this notice: "Win your Kroger On Track for the Cure 250 race tickets plus meet and greet passes for Bucky Covington Friday morning at 8:12." If you're anywhere within listening range, tuning in tomorrow is strongly recommended...

Meanwhile, the kind folks at Country 92.5 in Hartford have been updating their YFrog photo account via Twitter from Bucky's show at the Woodwinds; so far there's a shot from the soundcheck and another snap of the setlist. Stay tuned for more as the show rolls on.

See you soon!

Monday lunch break: Bucky Covington's latest Western weekend, podcast link, chart check and more...

Bucky Covington takes a stroll on stage at the Indiana State Fair; thanks again to the very kind Judy Lang for the photo.

Today started off with a sweet radio surprise: Bucky Covington called in to chat with Ichabod and the Waking Crew at KMPS in Seattle, and the results were fun (and funny), as always. A podcast link is now available on Ick's audio page. Get ready to smile!

One of the topics that didn't come up during that interview was Bucky's very long-awaited new album--as we discovered via his MySpace page last night, the release date has been changed to November 3rd. There are a zillion factors that go into deciding when to release a CD--everything from shopping seasons (holiday shopping, back-to-school gifts, etc.) to other artists' release dates, to the spacing out of singles plays a part. We're not sure of the exact reasons for Bucky's rescheduled street date; what we do know for sure is that a) the album is already finished and ready to go (so this is a marketing decision, not an artistic one) and b) we'll be extremely happy to finally get a chance to enjoy it, whether we're listening to it with leaves falling or snow flying.

Fluctuating release dates are frustrating for fans, but they're fairly common--and sometimes they're moved up instead of down. (For example, Toby Keith's new CD, originally scheduled for October 13th, was just moved up to October 6th.) In other words--hang on tight, y'all!

In the meantime, Bucky's lead-off single from the new album, "I Want My Life Back", is slowly but surely moving up, as well--it's #29 on this morning's Mediabase chart, but that pretty red bullet is growing bigger by the day. We'll keep it going with lunchtime and drive time requests today--and it's always fun to send our good friend Larry K at WKML a "Top 5 at 6" email at country@wkml.com, while we're at it.

A "hat photo", by request: Ducky Medlock, Jeff Cease and Bucky Covington serenade the crowd as the sun sets over the Boone County Fair in this great photo by Judy Lang. Thanks so much!

One of the topics that got a lot of airtime during Bucky's KMPS interview was his energetic live show, which one of the hosts referred to as an "endorphin rush". You can experience the rush for yourself out West this weekend--tomorrow, he and his excellent band will begin a three-show Washington State sweep with a stop at the Kitsap County Fair in Bremerton. Reserved seats are $15.00 (you'll need to buy a separate ticket for admission to the fair) and you can buy yours locally at 1200 NW Fairgrounds Rd in Bremerton. Festival seating is free with fair admission. Have fun!

Coming up: Bucky and the band rock the North Central Washington District Fair in Waterville on Friday, and they wrap up the Washington party at the Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo in Kennewick on Saturday. Bookmark Bucky's MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page for the latest news.

Enjoy your Wednesday!--Winnie

Bucky Covington interview at 98FM KCQ in Flint (updated)

WKCQ in Flint is sponsoring Bucky Covington's show tonight at The Machine Shop--and a few days ago, he called the station to chat about his healing hand, the differences between opening a show and being the headliner, and lots more. Listen to the podcast here--and if you're in the Flint area, be there tonight! You might snag a last-minute ticket at www.etix.com, at Busted Knuckle Underground Clothing (5880 State St. in Saginaw) or the venue box office.

Edited to add a photo gallery link from WYCD in Detroit--they were at last night's Dierks Bentley Throttle Wide Open show and got some great pre-show and fan shots. Looks like they'll have more on the way soon, too, so stop in again later.

Finally, check out this short but enjoyable news item at GAC's site today. Bucky talked a bit about what it's like to be the boss--a responsibility he doesn't take lightly. Enjoy!--
