Very quick news: Bucky Covington's "Good Guys" hits the charts, weekend concert reminders and a programming note...

Bucky Covington stopped in for a quick chat with People Country's cameras about his new album, Good Guys, his new single, "Drinking Side of Country" his work with the Help the Good Guys charity, the charms of the beautiful Kellie Pickler and more.  Enjoy!

The Hollywood Reporter's  Fred Bronson has a update on Bucky Covington's new release in this week's "Idol Worship" section:

Bucky Covington, who finished in eighth place [during Season Five], returns to the Billboard charts with his first album for the eOne imprint. Good Guys debuts at No. 30 on the Top Country Albums list and No 177 on the Billboard 200.

Congrats, Bucky!  (Celebrate Bucky's return to the charts by picking up your copy of Good Guys at Amazon, iTunes, the HelpTheGoodGuys.com store,  Bucky's official site, or at a store near you.)

Bucky (with the vocal help of the awesome Shooter Jennings), is also beginning a journey up the singles charts--while "Drinking Side of Country" is already a familiar favorite to his devoted fans, it's still making its rounds in "new song challenges" at country radio stations across the country.  Froggy 104.9/101.7 shared some good news on Twitter about Bucky and Shooter's "Sink or Swim" landslide victory today--and we'll be that there are many more of those fun songfights on the horizon.  Keep listening to your local country station...you never know when Bucky might pop up!  (And as long as we're in nagging...er, "encouraging" mode, feel free to join us and vote for him at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, CMT Pure's Pure 12 Pack and CMT's Top 20 Countdown, and feel free to call up those request lines and ask for him, too...)

You have at least two hot chances to see and hear Bucky live this weekend--he and his band will be performing at the Tallahatchie RiverFest in New Albany, MS on Saturday night, and on Sunday afternoon, he'll do an acoustic set at Cousler Park in Manchester Township, PA at the Music for a Muscle benefit for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, along with the Manchester Township career firefighters, Help The Good Guys and Kayla Kroh.  There's a rumor on Twitter that Bucky will also be performing at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday night--this is unconfirmed as of post time, y'all (I'd put that in blinking font if I knew how--he isn't on the list of performers at last check, although that's very much subject to change), but if you'll be in Nashville tomorrow evening, you might wanna check that out!

I'll be traveling for work early tomorrow with no internet access for most of the time, so I'll have to say goodbye a day early, but never fear--the fantastic Fran will keep us all up to date at the excellent Buckytown USA blog this and every Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning.  I'll see you here on Monday evening--have a great weekend, everybody!
