Bucky Covington's winter concert roundup, and a new song title, too...

First and foremost, a big thanks to our friend Texas Proud Bucky Fan (aka Redbird) for very kindly pointing out something we missed last night! Yesterday, we wrote about the newly-scheduled WorkPlay show in Birmingham, with a link to the venue's site. Here's what she spotted in Bucky Covington's newly-revised bio, where I'm Alright, his upcoming album, is described:

The full range of his personality finds expression in his newest record. The project reflects his wealth of musical influences, as he brings blue-eyed soul to "Hold A Woman" and Lionel Ritchie's Commodores classic "Sail On," a Southern rocker's energy to "I Always Said You'd Be Back," a South-of-the-border feel to "Mexicoma," pure riff-rocking power to "Evel Knievel" (“I couldn’t pass up cutting a song with that title!” he says with a laugh) and a connoisseur's sincerity to "Giants," a song that spells out the genre's debt of gratitude to groundbreaking artists like Dolly Parton, Hank Williams, Tammy Wynette and Johnny Cash.

Nice catch! Here's hoping we'll be hearing this one in Bucky's live set soon...

With all the new shows popping up, it's time for a concert roundup, yes? Here's the scoop:

Tonight: Bring along some canned goods for the local food bank, and party with Bucky and his excellent band at the WRNS Holiday Ho-Ho-Ho Down at the Tarheel Opry House in Jacksonville, NC.

Friday, 12/18: Bucky, Love and Theft, David Nail and Mallary Hope star in the WQMX Songwriters Showcase at the Dusty Armadillo (3147 State Route 44) in Rootstown, OH. Bring along a new toy ($15 value) for the CSB Toy Room.

Tuesday, 12/29: Bucky and company will rock the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville--more info should be coming soon at Buckytown USA and at Bucky's official site. Stay tuned!

Thursday, 12/31: Ring in the fresh new year with Bucky at 93.1 The Wolf's New Year's Howlin' Eve in Winston-Salem, NC. VIP packages are sold out, but party-only tickets and other offers are still available as of post-time. (See TwinCityQuarter.com for more details.)

Friday, 1/15: The 8 Seconds Saloon in Indianapolis presents Bucky and his band--this one's looking like a potential sellout, so get your ticket at Ticketmaster ASAP.

Saturday, 1/23: Bucky and company bring some Nashville flavor to the LHS Country Showdown at Liberal High School in Liberal, KS--tickets for this fundraiser are available locally at Crazy House in Garden City.

Tuesday, 2/9: Birmingham's WorkPlay is the place to be--Bucky and The Band Perry will rock the house to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and 102 Five the Bull are your sponsors. Tickets are on sale now at the WorkPlay box office online.
