Quick Wednesday news: Bucky Covington's encore on CMT tonight, go backstage at Icabod's and more Rockingham memories...

A request came in for this photo--thanks for writing! Bucky Covington shares a smile with the Iowa State Fair crowd in this great shot by the very kind Judy Lang; click the image to find out when Bucky and his band are bringing their incredible live show your way.

We'll start off today's update with a DVR/Tivo alert: CMT is re-airing Bucky Covington's fun Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader episode tonight at 8 pm and 12 am ET. He played the game to benefit the Arthritis Foundation--read all about it at his official site, and tune in to enjoy his very smart moves...

If you'd like to congratulate Bucky on his win, Gator Country 101.9 would like to help you get to do just that, one-on-one! They've got a contest in progress for a meet-and-greet before Bucky's show at Icabod's on Friday, and you can enter right here. (If you're not already a member of the Gator Country Club, join first from the link at their left sidebar, then register for the contest--good luck!)

Bucky's excellent new single, "Gotta Be Somebody", hit the Taking Off charts at Mediabase yesterday afternoon, and it's picked a couple of new stations since then. Congrats to Bucky's fans in Grand Rapids (where B-93/WBCT is playing Bucky's new one), and in the WITL listening area in Lansing.

There are even more stations on board, including WBEE in Rochester, sponsors of that sold-out 11/4 "Guitars & Stars" benefit concert featuring Bucky Covington, headliner Josh Turner, Kellie Pickler, Sara Evans, Phil Vassar, and Jimmy Wayne. (The station's still giving away tickets, though...be sure to listen to find out when the and where the local ticket drops are taking place.) We snagged their terrific player widget, and you can hear and share Bucky's "Gotta Be Somebody" wherever you like--how cool is that? Huge thanks to WBEE!

This link was meant to be posted yesterday, but the tech problems rattled everything--however, CathyAnne's Rockingham recap at her Heart-throscopy blog is still just as much fun today. Enjoy!

Steve Cook and Bucky Covington on stage at the Iowa State Fair; thanks again to Judy Lang for the fun concert shot.

We'll close for now with notes about two great live shows in Florida. Lisa at BuckWild mentions a 11/14 West Palm Beach show that we think might be the WIRK Fall Fest--so far, not much info on the station's site, but we're working on getting some details for you. Bucky and his band's show at the Jacksonville Fair on 11/10 is free with fair admission; VIP seating ($10 more) is a good way to sit closer-- you'll definitely want to-- and that advance ticket discount is in effect until 11/3.

More very soon--enjoy your Wednesday!
