Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington harmonizing at the York Fair in York, PA a few weeks back; photo via IdolChatterYD at TwitPic.Our posts usually begin with thanks these days--and this time, it's your turn! Thank you for writing to Larry K at WKML and requesting Bucky Covington's "Gotta Be Somebody"; it returned to the Top 5 at 6 countdown this evening at #4, and it'd be fun to get a winning streak going, yes? (See this morning's post for Janie's helpful details on how to make those WKML requests more effective than ever...)
As this post was being put together, some good Billboard news popped into the mailbox; Bucky's new single appeared for the first time on this week's Billboard's Country Indicator chart, debuting at #53. Congrats!
If you're like me, you picked up a copy of People Magazine's Country Special today, and you found a terrific photo of the Covington Brothers (in the "Nashville's Double Trouble" photo section, with the perennial automotive motif present and accounted for) on page 48/49. If you haven't snagged it yet, don't wait! Bucky and Rocky Covington are as charming as always, and the whole issue's a delight...
Speaking of motors and such, there's a little bit of music history up for bids on eBay--Bucky's blue 2003 Yamaha YZF-R1 is on the auction block for the next five days or so. The motorcycle is being offered by Sport Cycles of Rockingham, and it's an undeniably stylish way to get from point A to point B. Good luck and happy bidding!
We'll leave you with a couple of fun glimpses from Bucky's Rosehayn, NJ show last night; CathyAnne tweeted this fun photo from Bucky and Rocky's "Seven Spanish Angels" duet, and professional photographer La Femme Classique added three shots from Bucky's festival performance to her Smugmug candids gallery.
Enjoy the evening--Winnie
