Quick Wednesday news: Bucky Covington at Jacksonville Fair, TV reminders and more...

Bucky Covington on stage in Rockingham, NC; many thanks to Judy Lang for this terrific photo.

Bucky Covington and his band are set to rock their Florida fans with a recently-added show at the Jacksonville Fair on 11/10--the concert is free with fair admission, but VIP seating ($10 more) will get you closer to all the fun. A special advance admission ticket discount is still available; check it out at the fair's site, and snag your tickets before 11/3 to save. Hope you'll be there! (And while we're talkin' Florida, the 93.7 K-Country photo gallery might be a good bookmark for later--we're hoping photos from last night's sold-out acoustic concert in Ocala pop up very soon...)

Bucky will be popping up on your TV soon for sure--a week from now, on Wednesday, 10/7, CMT re-runs his appearance on Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader at 8 pm and 12 am ET. (Bucky won 25,000 for the Arthritis Foundation in fine style; you can read all about his triumph at his official site.) This week also brings the Greensboro audition episode of American Idol Rewind, which features the fifth season of Idol this fall, and it will air on Saturday, 10/3 in most areas--check local listings for time and channel. We found a listing site here--looks like the TV Guide Channel is also rerunning the Rewind shows a week after the syndicated episodes air, so if you miss it, you've got a second chance. Nostalgia can be fun!)

A panoramic view of Rocky Covington, Bucky Covington, Jeff Cease, Steve Cook and Scott Saunders (Jeff Brown's hidden, but he's there!) playing to a huge hometown crowd in Rockingham. Thanks again to Judy Lang for this dramatic shot.
For a little more recent nostalgia, check out Music Row magazine, where Bucky's hometown celebration made the Photos from the Road section. Bucky is pictured with Rockingham Mayor Gene McLaurin during the key-to-the-city presentation. Check out the very kind Buckyroo's video from that historic day here--thanks to her for sharing it at Photobucket!

Coming up in the next post--concert news, more on the very exciting pre-release buzz on Bucky's new single "Gotta Be Somebody". Thanks to our kind anonymous commenting friends who let us know it was the #1 downloaded new song by radio stations yesterday according to Country Aircheck, and it was #4 on WKML's "Top 5 at 6"!" Send an email to country @wkml.com and you'll help keep that latter streak going; Larry K would love to hear from you. More soon!
