Friday news: Bucky Covington in Arizona and on your radio today, "I'm Alright" coming soon, and more...

Bucky Covington (with Rocky Covington at left) on stage in Hillsboro, KS; click the image to see video of his excellent live "I Want My Life Back" at YouTube, then feel free to request the song at your local country station! Thanks to Judy Lang for the terrific concert photo.

Here's a quick bulletin style look at what's happening:

Last night, we spoke about why it's still very cool to request Bucky Covington's current single "I Want My Life Back" [hear it here] at our local country stations. (It's also stylish to listen in at WKML, for that matter; write our friend Larry K at country@wkml.com and show Bucky some love...)

This afternoon...it's still cool, y'all. The song's currently gracing the #34 spot on Mediabase's published rankings with a quite invisible bullet, but as a kind elf pointed out, many songs (including several just above and below Bucky's single today) have bounced back from similar losses to peak much higher than expected. The charts are so crazy this fall that it's never safe to assume anything! Our best bet, long-term, is to help make sure Bucky Covington's distinctive voice tickles as many ears out there in radioland as possible, no matter what the charts are up to. So the nagging...er, encouragement, will continue until further notice. (See you on the request lines...)

Thanks again to the gracious Lacypony for this one--Bucky Covington (with Ducky Medlock at right) had a word with the audience at the Kitsap County Fair. Click the image to browse Bucky's official concert schedule.

Tonight's live show takes place in a beautiful Western setting; Bucky and his band play the Navajo Nation Fair in Window Rock, AZ this evening at 9:30 pm. The Dean C. Jackson Memorial Arena is the venue, and (928) 871-6647 is the number to call for more information. Hope you can be there! (Check out Bucky's MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page to find out when they'll be rockin' the stage near you.)

Finally, this informative and fun Ogden, Utah Standard-Examiner interview was posted last night but got lost in the shuffle--among other interesting things, Bucky spoke with about the title (and the title song) of his upcoming album! Look for I'm Alright on your favorite music retailer's shelves on or about November 3rd--subject to change, as always. Bucky and his band will bring their high-energy country show to the Utah State Fair on Thursday, 9/17.

More soon...have a fantastic Friday!
