Thursday news: Bucky Covington's "I Want My Life Back" gets a boost, "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" and more...

By request, Bucky Covington on stage in Jacksonville; photo courtesy of our friend Diver. Click the image to see Bucky and his band performing "I Want My Life Back" at the Jacksonville show, as captured by FLCathy. Thanks again!

Bucky Covington's
on a chart roll this morning--his current single, "I Want My Life Back" has moved up again overnight, and it's now #33 on the Mediabase published chart. (Yes, the Top 30 chase is back on!) That bullet beside it is looking plumper and sweeter than ever--but naturally, we like our bullets as huge as humanly possible. That means it's time for a request-line reminder-- call your local country DJ today and ask for "I Want My Life Back" during those lunchtime request shows, and be sure to give it a thumbs-up on your station's "Top X at X" countdown, as well. (The song has been gracing the countdown for the past few days at Fayetteville's WKML--feel free to write the very kind Larry K at country@wkml.com and show Bucky some love...)

Last night's exciting message has got the Twitterverse humming! Bucky tweeted that he's doing a segment of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" soon, and it'll be a true pleasure to see him on TV again. No word yet on airdate, but he'll probably share that via his official Twitter as well--if you aren't following him there, you should be! It's a fun (and fast) direct line to Bucky's latest news, straight from the source.

Jeff Cease, Ducky Medlock, Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington on stage at Riverfront Park during their CMA Fest daytime show in June; many thanks to Diver for providing this photo.

Nothing's more direct than a live show, of course, and Bucky's fans in Virginia are getting a double dose of Bucky and his band and a second helping of Southern style barbecue. Earlier this month, they did an intimate show at Dave and Bob's in Winchester, and on Saturday, they'll rock the WSLC Star-BQ in Salem, along with Jessica Harp. Congratulations to Bucky's Virginia fans--and to find out when he'll hit the stage in your town, check out his MySpace calendar, Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and the official tour page at BuckyCovington.com.

Back soon with more--Winnie

This will be so fun! The only other time I have ever watched that show was when Kellie P was on.

  2. Bucky's natural sense of humor is a perfect fit for the show--this'll be good. Can't wait to see it!
