Quick Saturday news: Bucky Covington in Virginia, a chart hop, and a bonus update at Shiny Bass (updated w/ IG2BU photo/review link)

Thanks to Judy Lang for this great concert shot from Bucky Covington's show at the Boone County Fair this week. Click the image to see when Bucky and his band (and his stylish hat!) will rock a venue near you...

Here's a very quick update for a busy summer Saturday:

Bucky Covington's beautiful single "I Want My Life Back" is lookin' good on the Mediabase charts this morning--it's currently #33 with a slender but important bullet. Naturally, we'd love to see that bullet plump up over the weekend--the countdown airtime will help, but our well-timed request calls could really take it over the top! Be sure to keep your local country station's contact info with you while you're out and about enjoying the day...

If your local country station is 94.9 Star Country in Roanoke, you're bound to enjoy the day even more--the big WSLC Star B-Q happens this evening, and the gates will open in a few hours. Get there at 4:30 pm, enjoy some delicious barbecue, and wind down the night with music by Bucky and Jessica Harp beginning at 6. Tickets are $12 for adults, and kids 12 and under are free--can't beat that! Call the Salem Parks & Rec Department at 375-3057 for tickets and info, and bring your appetite and your camera.

Finally, there's an excellent bonus journal entry by Bucky's multi-talented bass player Steve Cook waiting for you at Shiny Bass today. Steve shares his insights from the road every week, and this extra entry is a delight. (Among other revelations, you'll get the inside story behind this photo we posted a few days back, and a bit more information about the upcoming video for "I Want My Life Back".) Steve's life sounds pretty good, indeed--many thanks to him for journaling it so well and so honestly.

Updated: There's an awesome new post (with tons of Belvidere concert shots and a show review) at It's Good to Be Us right now--stop in right away!

Have a splendid Saturday--Winnie
