Quick Tuesday news: Bucky Covington's Southern stop, and a little remodeling to serve you better...

Bucky Covington (with Rocky Covington at left) at the Merced County Fair in Merced, California this past weekend; thanks again to Minnie for the photo.

It's a slow news day here, but it's never slow on the road! Bucky Covington and his band are working hard to bring you a good time this summer; tonight, they'll headline the grandstand concert at Neshoba County Fair in Philadelphia, MS before heading to Kansas and the Marion County Fair Fire Jam in Hillsboro (tickets) on Friday night. Their concert schedule's been practically non-stop this year, for good reason--Bucky's new album release date is just around the corner, and by September 8th, much of the country will have had the chance to enjoy his high-energy live show. (If you haven't had your chance yet, don't miss out! Bookmark Buckytown USA's concert sidebar and Bucky Covington's official tour page, and check out Grüvr's interactive map for a fun visual guide to Bucky's travels.)

Bucky Covington and Steve Cook offer a study in contrasting hairstyles; another great shot by Minnie from the Merced County Fair show. Thanks!

Meanwhile, we can catch him every day via radio; "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky Covington's new single at his MySpace] starts the day at--you guessed it--#33 on Mediabase, with a bullet that we'd love to see plumper, especially since the race for #32 is pretty darn close. Our local country station request lines and "Top X @t X" countdowns would enjoy hearing from us, as would our good friend Larry K of WKML. (Fayetteville's popular "Top 5 at 6" countdown is a Bucky-fan tradition of sorts; write to Larry at country@wkml.com with "Top 5 at 6" in the subject line and a request for Bucky, then tune into the station's stream at 6 pm ET for the results.)

In other news (well, not news, really...boring site tech stuff) I'll be doing some maintenance and upgrading here at Buckymania over the next couple of days. Please forgive the possibly bizarre results as I work it all out! The basic design hasn't been updated since 2006, and with Bucky's new album coming soon, it's way past time to modernize the ol' blog to make it easier and more fun to use. If you have any suggestions at all, I'm eager to hear them--please write to me at buckymaniablog@yahoo.com. I really would love to know what you feel would make your time here more enjoyable!

In case the blog goes kaboom for a bit--with my tech savvy or lack thereof, this is an option--I'll still have the latest news, ticket alerts and updates for you via Twitter, so feel free to follow me. (And definitely follow Bucky!)

Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!--Winnie
