A not-so quick reminder: Bucky Covington needs you...yes, you!

This classic concert shot deserves an encore! Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington charmed the crowd at the Alameda County Fair earlier this month; many thanks to our talented friend Minnie for the photo.

Yep, it's about that time--posting the evening request reminder a little early tonight, because all hands are urgently wanted on deck! Bucky Covington's "I Want My Life Back" [hear Bucky's new single at his MySpace] is still in a race for that Top 30 prize, and time is of the essence. Today's afternoon Mediabase results are in, and the #34 spot still holds, but that bullet...well, it needs some passionate plumping-up. (It's 10 ahead, for the record.)

I do know that fully half the folks who stop by Buckymania are daily readers; thanks so much, and please forgive me for the constant repetition! The other 50%--howdy, and thank you, too. It's a huge pleasure sharing concert information, radio contests and photos with you, and whether you're a longtime fan from Idol, a new fan from a great concert last week, or a curious passer-by who just needs an online box-office link, you're always welcome here.

Click the photo to see video of producer Mark Miller discussing his work with Bucky at Bucky's MySpace blog.A blast from the past; Bucky Covington and Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown shared sunny California smiles on stage at the 2007 KNCI Country in the Park. Bucky and his band open for Sawyer Brown tonight and tomorrow; see this morning's post for details. Thanks again to the very talented Minnie for the shot!

The radio request nagging--um, "encouragement" --is such a huge feature on this blog because country radio is such a huge feature in the career of a new country artist like Bucky Covington. Not everyone can be at every one of Bucky's live shows (and that's too bad, because those shows are hot!) but just about every country fan has a radio or two at home, at work and in the car. Getting "I Want My Life Back" on the air everywhere goes a long way toward moving him from "new artist" to "proven hitmaker with a growing string of Top Ten singles". And of course, a string of Top Ten singles means more albums, more shows, more fun for years to come. (Yes, I'm greedy, y'all--I like the prospect of many, many summers full of excellent albums and live country concert goodness with Bucky and company, and I bet you do, too.)

So with all that said--whether you're a casual fan or a longtime listener, please feel free to join us on the request lines tonight and every night! Call your live local DJ, or request "I Want My Life Back" from the syndicated host gracing your airwaves right now:
